Chapter 31
Damian   I grabbed a few of the handguns out of the bag and walked out of the closet back into the major section of the cabin. I placed a gun in the drawers in the kitchen, one on either side of the counter, and placed another one in the drawer on the island. I walked into the living room and placed a gun in the drawer on the coffee table then went into the laundry room and placed a gun in the cabinet above the washing machine. It might be overkill, but you can never be too safe. I walked out of the laundry room and went over to the couch, kicked off my boots, pulled my gun from behind my back, and set it on the coffee table. I laid down on the couch. I felt exhausted even though we had stopped a few times along the way down here. I slept very little last night.  Once Ophelia put away clothes, she came out into the living room and sat down in the recliner. I looked over at her and motioned for her to come here. She got up f

Chapter 32
Ophelia The next morning Damian’s alarm on his phone went off at 5:00 am. He got out of bed and walked into the bathroom, took a shower, brushed his teeth, then got dressed. I sat up in bed, resting my head on the headboard, and turned the TV on. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped when I saw Damian walk out of the bathroom wearing his jeans, a gray t-shirt, his boots, and a black cowboy hat. I had never seen him in a cowboy hat before. Damn, he looked good. He saw me staring, and a smirk came across his face, “See something you like?”I bit my bottom lip and nodded my head. He walked over to the side of the bed and hovered over me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer, placing my lips on his. He pulled back and kissed the tip of my nose, “I’ll see you tonight baby girl.”“Do you have to go?” I pouted. He placed another kiss on my forehea

Chapter 33
Damian I hated to leave Ophelia alone, but I told Joe that I would help him around the ranch and that’s what I was going to do. Joe was already up and waiting when I got to the main house. I grabbed a cup of coffee and we sat out on the back porch talking about what he wanted to do today. We were going to be moving the cows from one pasture to another, giving the horse fresh hay, and cleaning out the barn. We were going to be running the fence and checking for any spots that needed to be fixed. We were also going to work on getting a site ready for the next barn he was going to build. A couple of the ranch hands showed up, and we went to the barn to get the horses saddled. I was so excited to see Browning. Joe had been taking good care of him, he looked healthy and happy. I put his bridle on, walked him out of the stall and tied him up. I ran a brush over him and checked for any sores then grabbed the saddle pad

Chapter 34
Mitch Several weeks had passed since I sent Ophelia into hiding. I was confident that she was in a good place and no harm would come to her.I had Jax call the pilot and get the plane ready. I packed a suitcase with enough clothes for the week, then we left the compound and flew to New York City. Later in the day, Noah and Oliver would fly down to New York also for the reopening of Jonol. The renovations were complete, and Liam planned to have a huge reopening party. I was looking forward to spending some time in New York. The house had been so quiet without Ophelia; it reminded me of when she got kidnapped, and that was not something I enjoyed being reminded of. I needed to get out of the house for a while, so I went to handle some business at the office. When we got to New York, Jax and I got into the car that was waiting, while the rest of the security split off into the Knights and followed us. We drove over to t

Liam   When I left the club, I knew exactly where I wanted to go. I stopped by my apartment and packed some clothes. I went over to my safe, pulled out all the cash that I had and my passports. I tossed my old phone in the safe and grabbed the other burner phones I had. I put everything in a duffle bag, went downstairs, got in my car, and drove to the airport. I knew I wouldn’t be able to use the private plane, so I used one of the fake IDs that I had to purchase the plane ticket to Russia.  I’ll admit, I was a little nervous about going to Russia. Ivankov was pissed after the massacre of his men at the papermill, and Viktor wasn’t too happy about the head he received. But I hoped that they would still help me. After a twelve-hour flight, I arrived in Russia. I got off the plane, grabbed my bags, and walked out of the airport. I called a taxi and gave him the address to Ivankov’s compound.&

Ophelia   The next few days seemed to drag on. I had so many thoughts running through my head, but I had no one to talk to about them. With Sam and Noah now dating, I knew I couldn’t talk to her about Liam. I also knew I couldn’t talk to Damian about Liam either. He would flip out if he knew I had talked to Liam. I was so confused. Ever since I talked to Liam, I’ve had knots in my stomach. Part of me believes dad and part of me wants to believe Liam. He had done nothing to hurt me before. While he may not have been as overprotective of me as Noah and Oliver, he had never given me a reason to doubt him. I wanted to sort this out. Neither dad nor Noah was giving me much information, but they never do. It took the accident in Miami to happen before I was even told some of what was going on. They always kept stuff from me.   Not that I wanted to be right in the middle of everything going on, but I at

Chapter 37
Damian   Ophelia told me she was going to the store today, so when she left, I thought nothing of it. A few hours passed, and I had not seen her come back. I tried calling her, but she didn’t answer. She always answers my calls. I sent her a text and still nothing. I went back to the cabin. Maybe I missed seeing her pass.   She was not in the cabin. I called her again, but still no answer. I called again, still no answer. My heart rate was rising as I thought of all the things that could be wrong.   I sent her a text, but no reply. I called her again, no answer. I was in full panic mode. Something was wrong. This was not like her to ignore my calls or texts.   I ran back to the main house and went inside. Mary and Joe were sitting at the island eating lunch, “I need to borrow the truck,” I said with urgency.   “What’s wrong?&r

Chapter 38
Mitch   I was sitting in my office with Noah, Oliver, and Jax. Ben has been working on tracking Liam’s phone, but it was showing up at his apartment. I sent a few guys to the city to investigate. They found the phone in his safe, but everything else had been taken out. Ben also pulled the call logs on Ophelia’s phone to figure out how this happened. He found a number that had called her for the first time a few days ago. There was a text sent from Ophelia’s phone and another call the morning they took her. Ben started a trace on the number that called her, but nothing had popped up yet. Apparently, the phone was either turned off or dead.  From the looks of it right now, Liam had called Ophelia from another number. God only knows what he told her to make her believe him. I would have to wait till Damian got here to find out more information about what happened. I kept watching my phone, expecting a me

Chapter 39
Ophelia   When I woke up, I instantly felt the worst headache I’d ever had. As I observed my surroundings and the room I was in, realizing I have no idea where I was. The room was beautiful though, it was painted light grey and had white and grey marble floors. There was decorative trim all around the room. The vaulted ceiling held a beautiful chandelier in the center.  I got down out of bed and went to the door. I turned the doorknob, but it was locked from the outside. I began pounding on the door, hoping that someone would hear and open it.  “HELLO!”   “LET ME OUT!”  “PLEASE! SOMEONE LET ME OUT!” I cried. When no one answered my cries, I went over to the window and pushed the curtains back. I gasped when I saw all the snow that covered the ground. I tried to open the window, but it was locked also. Where the hell am I?

Chapter 40
Ophelia  I woke up to a knock at the door. It unlocked and Lana walked in holding a white tray.  “Good morning Ophelia.” she smiled, walking over to the bed.   “Good morning Lana.”  As she set the tray on the table, I got out of bed and walked over to take a seat in the chair.  “This looks good. What is it?”   “This is fried eggs with kielbasa topped with dill. You also have blinis with mixed fruit jam. And you also have black tea.”   “Is there any coffee?”   “No ma’am,” she said, shaking her head.   “Well damn.”   “If you would like I can tell them that you requested coffee.”   “No. It’s okay. I’ll make do without my coffee.” &
