Chapter 30
(Kaeleigh’s POV)Shopping wasn’t too bad. But don’t tell anyone that. Zoey suggested we drive to the pack shopping centre. I shrugged and said okay; I was good to walk but assumed that the girls would have plenty of shopping, so driving seemed like a solid plan. We headed to the side of Opal house where a black SUV was waiting. A guy, likely an omega, was standing there smiling as he passed the keys to Zoey and started jogging off towards the main pack house. Kierra snatched the keys out of Zoey’s hands and jumped into the driver’s seat, grinning. “I’m the driver.” She proclaimed proudly. Zoey rolled her eyes as we all laughed and filed into the car. I went on to talk about what happened, keeping the details light as I didn’t want to be responsible for pack gossip. I ended it by telling them about the elite training offer and my shiny new pack bank card.

Chapter 31
(Kaeleigh POV)My alarm went off at 5am on Monday morning. I jumped out of bed with a buzz of excitement running through my veins. After changing into my workout clothes, I headed down to the basement to the state-of-the-art gym. The house was quiet, and I had the gym to myself. I focused on cardio, knowing full well that I would be getting a full-on intense workout later on today in my first training session. To say I was excited to finally be training with the pack warriors was an understatement. I knew it would be hard and that it was going to hurt, but if it made me stronger and better able to fight, then I was willing to accept the pain. I made my way back up to my room and an hour later I was showered and dressed in black tailored pants, a black collarless blouse and my grey herringbone cropped sleeve jacket. My hair was pulled back into a low bun w

Chapter 32
(Kaeleigh’s POV)I followed Marissa to the large glass-walled conference room, which was already filled with people. Sat at the head of the table was Emmerson Kane. I recognised him from all the magazine articles and from other business events. He didn’t even glance at me as Marissa led me to the seat next to him. She passed me an agenda, and I briefly looked through it, familiarising myself with the points. I can see one of the points is my name. Oh yay, attention, I thought sarcastically.Emmerson looked up and around the room and his eyes lingered on an empty seat as a look of frustration crossed his face. “Where is Adelaide?” he asks no one in particular. My heartbeat sped up briefly at the mention of her name. Clearly hearing it, Emmerson glanced my way before looking round the roo

Chapter 33
(Kaeleigh’s POV)Chase and I headed out of the pack house to where there was someone standing next to a small black sports looking car. I rolled my eyes as he passed the keys to Chase and then turned around and ran off into the park area. “Geez, does no one do anything around here for themselves? I reckon most packs would fail if you didn’t have the poor Omegas,” I muttered as Chase opened the passenger door with an amused look. I shook my head and slid into the seat. He closed the door and ran around to the driver’s side. He started the car and began to drive away from the pack house. “We do understand the value of our Omegas here you know,” he said as he drove over the bridge and turned left, “i know not all packs do, but we do respect them,”

Chapter 34
(Kaeleigh POV)“Adam?” I stuttered. “You scared me” He just stood there not moving, his face in shadow. I moved forward slowly until I was within arm’s reach. “Adam?” I was starting to feel uneasy. Then he stepped forward, and the light hit his face, which was set in fury.“Do you know how long it took me to get there, Kaeleigh?” He moved towards me again and I backed away. He stopped and a slow smile played across his face. “What’s up, Kaeleigh? I thought we were friends?” He took another step forward, and I backed up again. “Adam, what’s wrong?” I felt like I was pre

Chapter 35
(Kaeleigh POV)When I woke up, I was in a strange bed in a strange room. And by the looks of it, it was a guy’s room. I looked around the room. It looked like a bigger version of my own room. The furniture was made from a rich dark wood. Other than the bed that I was in, which was seriously comfortable as fuck, there was a large chest of drawers and a desk, both solid looking with clean, masculine lines. Both of them seemed to be covered in random stuff like it had been dumped there. At the far end of the room there was a large TV on a matching dark wood entertainment centre along with several of the latest popular gaming consoles, as well as a few I didn’t recognise. In front of it was a large, light brown three-seater sofa. The walls were a warm beige and had various movie posters and such hung on them. Geez, where the fuck was I?I peeked under t

Chapter 36
(Kaeleigh’s POV)I looked down at the t-shirt that I was wearing. “Chase, could I er… borrow some pants?” He grinned at me. “I’m trying to get your clothes off, not help you put on more.” I glared at him. “I’m sure your father will be fine with me walking round your room half naked, then?” He shrugged and winked at me. “I think he probably would, actually.” “CHASE!” I exclaimed. He laughed at my glare. “One second, baby.” He walked out of the room. I stood there in the middle of the room staring at the door until he came walking back in with a purple spark

Chapter 37
(Alpha Daniels’s POV)I watched her reaction carefully as I told her. I needed to know if she had known all along, if she was hiding it. The amount of power she had, she had to know. But judging from her reaction, she was either a very good actor or she truly didn’t know. Her eyes widened as I said it, and her breathing increased. In fact, she looked like she was about to go into a panic attack.“Wha- What do you mean?” she stuttered. I nodded to Alrik, who went to take hold of her hand, but Chase shook his head. I watched as he stroked her arm and whispered in her ear, and she visibly relaxed against him, her breathing studying again. It looked like an intimate exchange, and I felt like I was intruding and wanted to give them privacy, but I was also fascinated by the power of the fated bond itself. I had never seen the effects so obviou

Chapter 38
(Kaeleigh POV)I sat on the sofa in a state of shock. I felt like I had more questions than answers. Even though the Alpha had given me an explanation for my apparent Alpha status, I could tell that he wasn’t being completely honest. And how could I even know what my feelings were if my wolf was controlling me with lust as well as anger? The idea made me shudder. Chase pulled his arm from around me and got up to walk away, and moments later, I felt a blanket on my shoulders. “Hey, baby.” I looked up at Chase, who was watching me with concern. “Why don’t you get comfortable on the sofa?” He gently coaxed me to sit back on the sofa and moved the blanket so it was covering me. He sat down on the edge of the sofa. “I linked Zoey and suggested a movie and game night here.” I nodded. Maybe something to take my mind off of everything I had just learned might help.

Chapter 39
(Kaeleigh’s POV)***Two Months Later***Chase kept his word, for the most part. He kept away from me and gave me space. There were a few issues. Like when we started the warrior training, his alpha protective ass attacked both Jensen and Zack for going too rough, in his opinion, with me. By the end of the first week, the Alpha had decided that Chase should step back from my training too. I knew he wasn’t happy about it, but I needed to learn, and the boys had to be able to teach me without fear of having their throats ripped out. This left the only real official time of seeing Chase, was in the office, but we somehow ended up on different accounts, so even that time was minimal. I was incredibly grateful. The distance allowed me to really settle into the routine of the pack, make friends, and actual
