(Kaeleigh’s POV)Shopping wasn’t too bad. But don’t tell anyone that. Zoey suggested we drive to the pack shopping centre. I shrugged and said okay; I was good to walk but assumed that the girls would have plenty of shopping, so driving seemed like a solid plan. We headed to the side of Opal house where a black SUV was waiting. A guy, likely an omega, was standing there smiling as he passed the keys to Zoey and started jogging off towards the main pack house. Kierra snatched the keys out of Zoey’s hands and jumped into the driver’s seat, grinning. “I’m the driver.” She proclaimed proudly. Zoey rolled her eyes as we all laughed and filed into the car. I went on to talk about what happened, keeping the details light as I didn’t want to be responsible for pack gossip. I ended it by telling them about the elite training offer and my shiny new pack bank card.

(Kaeleigh’s POV)I followed Marissa to the large glass-walled conference room, which was already filled with people. Sat at the head of the table was Emmerson Kane. I recognised him from all the magazine articles and from other business events. He didn’t even glance at me as Marissa led me to the seat next to him. She passed me an agenda, and I briefly looked through it, familiarising myself with the points. I can see one of the points is my name. (Kaeleigh POV)I sat on the sofa in a state of shock. I felt like I had more questions than answers. Even though the Alpha had given me an explanation for my apparent Alpha status, I could tell that he wasn’t being completely honest. And how could I even know what my feelings were if my wolf was controlling me with lust as well as anger? The idea made me shudder. Chase pulled his arm from around me and got up to walk away, and moments later, I felt a blanket on my shoulders. “Hey, baby.” I looked up at Chase, who was watching me with concern. “Why don’t you get comfortable on the sofa?” He gently coaxed me to sit back on the sofa and moved the blanket so it was covering me. He sat down on the edge of the sofa. “I linked Zoey and suggested a movie and game night here.” I nodded. Maybe something to take my mind off of everything I had just learned might help.
