Chapter twenty three
Cassandra arrived home shortly afternoon, and all she wanted to do was throw on some comfy clothes and crawl into bed for the rest of the day. Cassandra had upset her best friend to the point of her asking her to leave, and she missed Jason terribly and hadn't heard from him. The past several days had been such a roller coaster of emotions. Feeling mentally drained, Cassandra slept for a good portion of the afternoon and well into the evening hours. She awoke to a dark and quiet house feeling more alone than she ever had before. Hoping she would see that she had voice mails or text messages from Jason and Eloise, Cassandra immediately grabbed her phone off the nightstand. She anxiously flipped through her phone...nothing from either one. Cassandra felt wretched for the way she left things with Eloise at the hospital, and she was having doubts about the way she handled leaving Jason without saying goodbye, yet again. She was starting to worry that maybe he hadn't gotten the note. On th

Chapter twenty four
Cassandra slept much later than usual, and her body appreciated the extra sleep. She awoke feeling much better than the night before. She was happy that she had finally heard from Jason and chalked up the late-night text to him simply being busy with the tour. She jumped out of bed and grabbed a cup of coffee from the kitchen before showering. She threw on a stylish navy blue jumper with open-toe ankle boots and pulled her hair into a sleek, high ponytail. Cassandra was going to head to the office for a few hours and then stop at the hospital to visit Eloise. She had decided she was going to keep the information about Nicholas to herself for now. She couldn't take the risk of any more added stress to her life especially being so early in her pregnancy. Cassandra headed out the door without having had anything to eat, and the loud rumble in her stomach was telling her it was time to put something worthwhile in it. She needed to stop and gas her car up, so she decided to grab something

Chapter twenty five
Cassandra arrived at Eloise's house just about twenty minutes later and found her in much better spirits compared to a few days earlier. "Cassie, I'm so glad you're here! I'm so sorry that I acted like a complete ass at the hospital yesterday!" Eloise apologized. "It's fine, Ellie. I know you're going through a lot right now. I also want to apologize to you. I I shouldn't have continued to push the topic of Nicholas on you like I did. "It's your call, and I'll support you whatever you decide to do." Cassandra's thoughts immediately flashed back to seeing Nicholas in the burger joint with that strange woman. Cassandra felt like she should tell Eloise what she saw, but she bit back her words. She needed more time to think it through before telling her friend what she had seen. After all, she wasn't really sure what it was that she did see. "How's Jason?" Eloise asked enthusiastically. "You have to fill me in on everything!" Cassandra's face went white, and she could feel herself on the v

Chapter twenty six
Cassandra stayed in bed the remainder of the day, napping on and off between TV shows until she finally decided she couldn't lay there any longer. She had to get up and get some food in her belly. She threw on some clothes and decided on having something delivered. Cassandra called out for a pizza, and for the first time in days, she would actually have a little bit of an appetite. Cassandra did a little bit of light cleaning while waiting on the pizza delivery guy to show up. She saw headlights sweep across the walls of her living room and knew her dinner had arrived. She grabbed a twenty-dollar bill from her purse and headed to the door. Just as the doorbell rang, she opened the door, and to her surprise, it was Nicholas! What the heck is he doing delivering pizzas? "Nicholas! What are you doing here?" she asked wide-eyed. "Hey, Cassandra! Well, it looks like I'm bringing you a medium pepperoni with tomatoes and extra cheese," he replied with a friendly wink and a smile. "How are you

Chapter twenty seven
After a long night's sleep, Cassandra was feeling very anxious because she had to go and tell Eloise what had transpired the night before with Nicholas. She had not heard back from Eloise yet, but it was still a bit early. With a sigh, Cassandra got up, showered, and dressed. While hoping for a return phone call, she headed to the fridge and grabbed a piece of leftover pizza. By the time Cassandra finished her three slices of pizza, rather slowly, an hour had passed, and still no phone call from Eloise. What could be keeping her? Surely she should be up and about by now. Cassandra dialed Eloise's number and again it went straight to voicemail. She had remembered when she was away with Jason and she kept getting her voice mail, that was when Eloise had found out she was pregnant. Clearly, at the time, she was in crisis mode and it concerned Cassandra that something else might be going on now that was causing her to ignore her calls. Cassandra decided she was just going to drive over to

Eloise hung up the phone and smiled at her friend. Cassandra waited in anticipation for Eloise to give her the news. "Well?" Cassandra asked, almost ready to jump out of her skin. "Was he able to help?" "Yes, he was, and you owe me, Cassandra Miller!" Cassandra pumped her fist with excitement, "Yes!" she shouted in utter excitement. Eloise's friend that had gotten her the first set of tickets and the meet and greet passes had been able to get them another set of tickets to the next Blue Moon show coming up in just a couple of days. Eloise had to pay a pretty penny for these tickets, which happened to be in the front row, but Cassandra had promised to pay her back. Plus, she would pay for the cost of their road trip if she was able to get them for her. Cassandra had not heard from Jason since he had left the message asking if things were over between them, and she had not contacted him either. Cassandra knew that this was not something that she could fix with a text message or phone cal

All the way there, Cassandra and Eloise talked, sang to the radio, laughed, and talked some more. Cassandra could feel that old familiar feeling of butterflies return to her stomach as they grew closer and closer to the city where Blue Moon was playing. They drove right past the venue on the way to the hotel, and Cassandra caught a glimpse of Blue Moon's tour bus. She felt her pulse quicken, and her stomach leaped into her chest as if she had just flown down the hill of an amusement park thrill ride. Cassandra felt more nervous right now than she had the first time she had met Jason in person at the meet and greet. (•) When they pulled up to the hotel and parked, Cassandra immediately flew out of the car, heading straight for the entrance. "Calm down, Cassie... we've got plenty of time." Eloise giggled, observing her overly anxious friend, nearly jog into the hotel lobby.
