Chapter 110
Alissa fidgeted on her spot standing beside a wall within the human world. She didn’t want to have this conversation… but she had to. She’d convinced Luca it was best for it to all come from her.  Now she was here she was less sure about that.  She’d found a spot that was pretty isolated to wait for who she needed. There were no houses, just a park to one side that was empty and a metal box that was buzzing beside her. No houses and no people. All good.   The man she wanted appeared around the corner just on time. He froze for a split second before continuing down the road. “Hi,” she greeted a little awkwardly.  Michael nodded, almost sensing she wasn’t here for a friendly visit.  “How are y

Chapter 111
Kimberly was leant over the counter, half the washing up done. “Hey, you don’t need to do that,” Michael half scolded, half reassured, coming up behind her. He settled his arms around her, finding her belly wet with washing up water. “Should leave it for me.”  “I feel so lazy.” “You’re due any day. You have grown a whole person inside you. You are not lazy.” He placed his hands under her belly, lifting for her to sag against him, a moan leaving her lips.  “Oh, Jesus that feels good.”  “Do it any time,” he whispered, the weight of his baby in his hands, her body against his chest as she sunk her weight against him. “Has he been kicking?”  “Constantly.” “My

Chapter 112
“Will she wake up?” Jack whispered, looking around the living room that he’d come to know somewhat. It was different to what he was used to but very common for humans. Michael shook his head, “No, she should be out for 8 hours.” “Good.” “I don’t like this,” Michael mumbled quietly. “It’s the only way, you know it is,” Jack reasoned, setting a hand on his brother’s shoulder. “You have to stay, she can’t suspect you.” “She shouldn’t lose her pup.”  “She has to, if that pup grows up here…” “I know… I know. I just… He’s two weeks old… it’s too young. He’s too young to be taken.” “L

Chapter 113
Luca dropped Alissa off at the end of the street. The semi detached houses had become a frequent site for Alissa. A scent Alissa couldn't place drifted up her nostrils as she walked towards Kimbery's house. Alissa knew the sight she was going to see. She was there to comfort her baby being lost. The smell was getting stronger as she walked up the path. Something was wrong, the black door had been left open. Alissa quickened her pace.   A scene of destruction met her eyes. Kimberly's home had been ransacked. A trail of blood led into the kitchen. She followed it, being careful where she stood. She could place the smell now, it was death. She knelt beside Kimberly's body. Alissa begun to shake “Luca!” she pushed her mind to him “Luca, Kimberly's dead!

Chapter 114
She was watching like a ghost of past ancestors but it felt very normal as she watched Malachi in bed. It should have been strange, just watching the big Scot, he looked pretty peaceful sleeping. Was he dreaming? Was his mind blank?A bang suddenly thundered through her mind… through the castle. The large man’s eyes flung open. He grunted as he peered out the arched window haloed with rough stone. The sun had not yet risen, he frowned in complete confusion. A question he didn’t utter but she knew the question was Who would be calling at his castle at this time of night? “Help!” the desperate cry had him moving. She felt she was part of him… yet far enough away. An observer.  He bolted from bed without a second thought and ran down

Chapter 115
Michael stared at the ceiling.Numb.He was completely and utterly numb. He hadn’t felt anything since being dragged back to the pack house. He barely even remembered the journey, or even getting here. One minute he was holding his beautiful Kimberly in his arms, the next Jack and Luca were dragging him through the corridor to his room. All he could see was her… his love… dead. Torn open. When he closed his eyes that’s all he saw. When the room was dark… that’s what he saw. When the curtains let in light. Yeah, her. Dead. The image was plastered on his eyelids no matter what he did.He knew he’d have to leave her soon. Knew their days were numbered but he’d always thought… Always hoped that maybe he could se

Chapter 116
His arms were stretched above him, the room was dark until a haze of seven chairs glimmered in front of him but they were empty. A disembodied voice burnt his ears. “You are charged with murder of an Alpha. What say you?”“I didn’t,” he replied immediately. “I haven’t killed anyone,” his voice sounded odd to his ears, it was his voice. He looked around but it was like his gaze couldn’t move from the seven chairs. Movement allowed him to turn to see a figure that had his blood running cold. “You did, son.”“Da’?” he whispered, not really believing it. He looked pale, skeletal. Not the large, strong Alpha he’d been in his life. &ldqu

Chapter 117
Michael stepped into the shower, the roar of the water filled his ears, the water cascading over his (let’s face it) filthy body. He inhaled, it actually felt good. He’d forgotten… or not cared before this moment. After the shower, he got dressed for the first time in two weeks. It was time to stop wallowing. Nothing got done from wallowing. He wasn’t sure if it was time for action but it was at least time to leave ‘his pit’ as Jack had called it at least a hundred times in the last week.  Bacon and pork flooded his nose as he put his shoes on making his stomach growl loudly. Someone was cooking breakfast and maybe he needed some fuel in his body.  Getting downstairs, he found Luca and Alissa in the kitchen, Luca cradling Peta and bouncing him around the kitchen.  “Hey,” Luca greeted, “How you doin

Chapter 118
He moaned, the chestnut haired woman writhing beneath him, chanting his name in pure bliss. “It should have been you,” she whispered sweetly, another cry of desire passing her beautiful lips. “Not him, you should have taken me. You should have told me to come to you.” Her words were musical. Beautiful. Everything he wanted to hear. “I know, lass,” he breathed, stroking her cheek. He wanted her just as she was, beneath him, taking everything he could  give her. He could give her life, happiness, pleasure.“But you didn’t,” she stated softly, her beautiful green eyes turning to sorrow, to pain.“No…” He wanted that look on her face to disappear,

Chapter 119
Luca crawled into bed, drawing Alissa towards him and sighing. It felt good to have her in his arms. Good for his body to hit the softness of a mattress. “Long day,” Alissa mumbled.“Yeah. Least Michael’s home for good now.”“True. Peta’s adorable.”“He is. We’ll have our own soon too.”“We will, will we?” She turned, quirking her eyebrow at him.“Only right. We’re mated. Pup comes next.”“Got it all worked out, eh Alpha?”“I mean… if you want. Tradition doesn’t override your wishes.”“Better. But… a little one of our own would be nice… just not yet. I want to enjoy you.” “Alright, gorgeous. So… a month?”She smacked his chest before they both burst into laughter. “Got some time tomorrow, what do you want to do?” He stroked his finger over her cheek. “Our place?”“Sounds good. Take some books.”“Perfect. Luca…?”“Yeah?”“I want to change my room into a nursery. For Peta.” “Good idea,” he whispered just before she drifted off to sleep. Alissa looked over the bannister as three me
