chapter 60
Lillith sat in the same spot for an hour. She was deep in thought. She kept staring at her little baby and thinking of the possibility of trying to escape once again. She didn't need Lucien to tell her. She knew Leon was here for her. She thought he was going to stop after sometime? She had been fine for seven months! Seven good months! Why the hell was he here for her again? She sighed and leaned her back against her chair. Her baby was fast asleep and in no time, he was going to be awake and wanting to be fed by her. She turned to see Regan coming into the room. She offered her a small smile and shut the door gently. "You've been here for a long time. It's time for lunch. I'm sure Henry wouldn't want to wake up to nothing," Lillith's lips trembled. "I am not hungry, Regan. I am content without eating anything," Regan sighted. "Why are you so worried about him? Lucien is out there. He's going to protect you. Trust me. Once he cares about someone, he neve

In the heat of it all, Leon saw Lillith rush in through the gates with a child in her hand. He had thrown Lucien to the floor to see her standing there, looking like the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. But then again, he was consumed by terrible anger. If this child belonged to her, then he was going to kill Lucien once and for all for touching his woman. He left Lucien and walked towards her. He stopped a few feet away from her when he saw that she was retreating from him. She held Henry close to her and when he began to cry, she looked down at him and began to serenade him silently. For a whole minute, none of the men said anything. They just watched her take of the baby and when she finally looked up, Leon was the first to speak. He pointed at the child. "Who does that belong to?" Lillith decided that it was time to stop hiding and maybe tell the truth. She was tired of keeping things from him. She was tired of running and being found. Tired of ha

Leon looked around wildly. He knew they were going to come for him. He wasn't going to allow that. Immediately, he turned to Lillith. "Run to the carriage!" She shook her head. "I won't! You aren't going to make me come with you!" She grabbed a dagger from one of the men and brought it to her neck. Leon and Lucien stopped immediately. "If this doesn't end right now, I will kill myself and my son! Isn't it enough?" Leon shook his head. "I can't let you do that, Lillith. I can't." "But you will watch me do it if you both don't stop!" She screamed. Tears began to pour out of her eyes. Within a second, he took the dagger from her hand and held it behind him. He placed a hand on her shoulders. "Please. Just go back to the carriage. I won't harm him." She stared at him for a while. He sounded really genuine. There was no way she could turn him down after he had been this sincere to her. She had never seen him beg her like this. Nodding, she began

The ride back to Red Lily was a long one and they got back late at night. The palace gates were wide open and as soon as his guards recognised the carriages, they informed the others and soon, they all waited as the carriages ran in through the gates. Lillith was helped down by one of the coachmen and just then, Henry woke up. His cries rented the air as he felt a change in the air he was used to. Lillith rocked him from side to side, trying to soothe him from crying but that didn't seem to make anything better. It was dark and the palace was lit up by pale white lights that somehow made it possible for her to see through the dark. Getting used to this place was going to be a task for her as she was reminded of the terrible things she had experienced here before Lucien came to save her. Looking back at the gates, she already knew this was going to be her last time escaping. Leon was a smart man so she was sure he would put a lot of guards around her room.

Lillith decided to clean herself and her baby up before requesting for dinner. She stopped Cali from doing anything and asked her to get their meal ready. She also made it clear that she wanted her meal prepared by her only, not minding if it was stressful. But she didn't fail to explain her fear for the kitchen staff. None of them liked her and she wasn't ready to die on her first night if being here. As she bathed her baby, she felt powerful. There was this surge of strength within her. One that made her feel like she could overcome anything now that she had Henry. Being pregnant had made her feeble and weak but right now, she was the mother hen that protected her own with her life. She made another promise. One that she was going to keep to her death and it was to protect Henry from any sort of harm. Once she was down bathing him, she wrapped one of her shawls around him. All of his clothes were in a bag that Regan had packed up for Henry. While he played wi

"An explanation is what you need? Then I am going to give it to you," She said and drew her breasts back into her dress. As angry as Leon was right now, he couldn't stop his eyes from following the movement of her breast. He drew in a breath and tore his eyes away from her when she gently lay the little baby down. He started to cry but she began to say soothing things to him and soon, he was giggling and his eyes were starting to close. She readjusted her dress and turned to look at him. There was no fear in her blue eyes as she stared up at him. "I didn't want to tell you because apparently, all you've been to me is vicious and brutal. I was too afraid to speak. Heck, I didn't even know I was pregnant." "My brother got sick about a year ago and was on the verge of death. The only way to save him was by having a one night stand with a stranger, I didn't even know. Hell, I was drunk. Didn't even see his face. And then, I was forced to get married to you as a way to pay for

As soon as Leon left Lillith's room, he went straight to his chief guards waiting in his study, startling the man when he burst into the study with a low hum. Leon's guard had never seen him look this light hearted. He was always brooding. "Assemble all of my men in the courts. From the elders to my warriors and all other notable men. Delilah should be must be there too for there are important announcements I want to make," Nodding, the guard left the room. And Leon leaned back on his seat with a smile on his face. He had never been this happy in a long time. The last few months for him had been hell. All he could think of was getting an heir and the whole time, Lillith had his child on her belly! Why had she made it so difficult for them both then? Why hadn't she made it known to him? He sighed. She had every valid reason to hide it from him. For a moment, he felt a pang of guilt but it was gone as soon as Lucian came into the room to announce that everyone h

"The Coronation will be announced as soon as I have consulted the lesser gods. The moon goddess will definitely approve of it but it is going to take a few days," Delilah finally said. The whole court was silent as they all digested the news of Lillith's return. None of the elders could counter any of the things that had been said because hell, Lillith was back indeed and there was nothing they could do about it. As soon as the meeting was over, the men dispersed, leaving Leon's faithful elders, the General and the commandants with Leon. They were all working for them and were one of the oldest too. They had witnessed the assassination of Leon's parents and were on his side. Delilah nodded once at Leon and he spoke. "We are almost getting close to victory. But we must tread carefully as they are still against us. First and foremost, we must strengthen the guard around the gates. We are likely going to be under attack this week. Once Lucien is able to gather his men, they

Meanwhile, all Lucien had been doing all day was plotting on how to invade the Red Lily Pack. His strongest Warriors had assembled before the palace, listening as he spoke to them with anger in his voice. "We have done nothing but he has invaded our pack. Twice. Two good times and I will not let him leave. His pack will suffer for it! He has left with Lillith and my child!" Actually, no one knew who the child belonged to. Only Reinhardt and the maids who were still at the house. This was to drive the men to fight. If they found out that the child didn't belong to him, nor was he married to Lillith, the drive to fight wouldn't be as high as it is now. He could feel the energy bubbling up through them as they nodded. Once he was done addressing them, he went to his study. Reinhardt followed after him, knowing how much of a bad mood Lucien was in. "If you're here to tell me how I shouldn't go after my best friend, then I am not ready to listen to you," "That's not

The coronation was to be in a few days time. The borders of the Red Lily Pack had been strengthened by more warriors watching and protecting. Lucien could strike anytime. They had to be careful incase of an attack. As for Delilah, she remained in the temple, away from everyone as she went to meet the gods to make enquiries on how the coronation was going to hold. Lillith woke up to Henry's cries filling the room. Sitting up on the bed, her eyes caught a structure right beside her bed. Her bedside table had been moved to the other side of her bed, close to the window and there, Henry's cot sat. A beautiful structure made of polished wood that had been glazed in white oil paint and some figurines that dangled and chimed from an attachment that held it in place. She turned to Cali with a smile and climbed out of bed. Ignoring Henry's cries, she went to the bed and touched the smooth wood, smiling to herself before she turned to Cali. "It arrived this morning," Cali sai
