Narrators POV

A Hotel, the City

Dennis caught him before he took another corner. Joe bent, his hands on his knees, panting.

"God. Did you take the stairs? ", he asked concerned.

"I had to", Joe said, repairing his suit.

"Emily? "

"She's doing better", he said.

"Hope you didn't go soft on her for missing work? "

Joe looked at him.

"This was not the plan", Dennis said.

"The plan isn't what I do. I can't play with her the way she played with me. I can hurt her".

Dennis nodded, opening the door.

He entered the room, which was designed Lila an exquisite meeting room.

A purplish haired lady, with her back turned to them, was looking out the window.

"Uh, hello? ", Dennis called.

She didn't reply. He looked at Joe. The lady must have become cross, because she had been waiting for a few hours.

Joe sighed. He walked up to her and tapped her.

She turned, taking off her earpods.

"I'm sorry, a meeting is about to happen. If you're really interested in me, you could wait outside".
