Chapter thirty six

Narrator's pov

The City, Joe's House

Emily looked across the table where she and Joe normally had dinner.

He wasn't there, he was still wherever he was.

She looked at the time. Eight o clock.

She wondered where he went.

What was he doing?

Was he thinking about her?

She sighed. She felt sick. Joe Wolford was really unpredictable. And she was starting to hate that she could predict his moods.

She pushed the food away from her.

Her love was slowly turning into an obsession.

Narrator's pov

The City, Orphanage

Joe looked at the frisbee in his hand.

The children had puppy dog eyes and were scared of the stranger he just met.

He smiled at them.

"You could have hit me", he said holding up the red Frisbee.

The children wailed. "We're sorry, mister. We didn't mean to hit you!!", they begged.

They reminded him of when he was young. He flung the Frisbee as far as he could throw, watching with glee as they chased after it.

Someone coughed behind me.

"Who are you?", she asked.

He turned. She gaspe
