Ariana's POV

I retracted my hand which was just about to insert the key and it fell limply to my hip. I groaned internally at the thought of seeing Alpha Derek again. There was something about his gaze that unsettled me and made me feel as if he was seeing into the depths of my soul. I could just be imagining it but still, I did not want to see the no smiling Alpha again that day. I had no choice, though. I just had to go.

I stepped back from my door and walked the short distance to his own door. While there I waited and admired the main door of the Alpha's quarters. The door in front of me was beautiful but it was not as grand neither was it as elegant of the door of the Alpha's office. The office was his main domain, the domain of power from where he ruled over his subjects, made laws, rules and regulations, administered justice and meted out punishments to those thar erred him or others unlawfully.
