Alton's POV

As per our agreement, I had breakfast at Solana's Dad's house again. I arrived early, and she wasn't ready for work yet, so I waited for her in their living room.

Jacob, her Dad, returned from his morning stroll and spoke to me.

"You're really determined to win her back," he said, smiling.

I nodded and smiled back.

"I have no choice. I've fallen deeply, and I have no idea how to get over her. So, the only thing left for me is to try and try until she finally gives in," I explained.

Jacob smiled and stared intently at me, making me feel slightly uncomfortable.

"You really love her, I can see that," he remarked.

I nodded without hesitation.

"I do," I said firmly.

He let out a deep breath and looked into my eyes.

"I really hope you two end up together. I really like you for Solana. I hope I get lucky and attend your wedding. You should move faster, Alton," he teased, but I sensed some truth behind the jest.

"I really hope you can attend our wedding," I played along.
