Maddox’s POV

I couldn’t believe what I saw when I watched Lottie dragging Millie out of that building. Nor could I believe the state Millie was in. Considering how Millie treated me when I first met her, it’s shocking to see the state of her now. “I need Caren,” were the words Lottie practically screamed at me. I mind linked Parker immediately after he responded to me. I went to console Lottie. She didn’t appear hurt, but her expression was alarming. I felt helpless to help my mate right then.

If we were back home in my pack and someone made my Luna feel this way, I would kill them. Once I get her home, I never expect to see that look on her face again.
