1-Sabrina

Sabrina’s POV

“Sabrina McMarin,” the principal calls my name, and I walk across the stage. I took my diploma and sat down.

Finally, it was his turn. Captain of the football team, homecoming king, State Wrestling Champion.

“Sedit Zenith,” The principal seemed relived, but everyone tensed when Sedit grabbed the mic.

“Hello, Hill Spring High School!” Sedit cheered and all the students cheered. “As the last student called, I am in a unique position to do this. As you all know, I have a very special woman in my life. She has been mine for four years. She has put up with a lot, from a lot of you. Especially, you ladies who seem to think being taken is a fluid thing. But she and I have remained faithful to each other and our promises. So, I am hoping,” Sedit kneels down and, I swear, I hear every girl gasp. “Sabrina McMarin, will you please marry me? Living without you another second will be the death of me.”

I can’t help the giggle in my face as I stand up and walk to the stage.

“Yes,” I say into the mic. Most people clap but a few made scoffs.

Sedit’s eyes twinkled as he put the diamond on my hand and then we kissed.

That was our last perfect day.

Two Weeks Later

“SABRINA!” Sedit screams as he crashes through the door after a night shift.

“Hey baby,” I answer sleepily. “How was work?”

“Why are there dishes in the sink?” He grabs my arm.

“Ouch!” I scream.

“Why are their dishes in the sink?” He screams at me again.

“I didn’t have time to clean them. I was sleepy,” I tell him.

I barely have time to register what is happening as his hand comes across my face with such force, I see stars.

I try to refocus my eyes and I’m about to hit back when another blow to my face almost makes me black out.

“Get them clean now,” He pulls me to the sink and stands over me as I clean them. Once I’m done, he pulls me by my hair to the bedroom. “Let this be a lesson in how to be a proper wife.”

He threw me on the bed and held me down as he had his way with me.

When he finished, I lay scared to move beside him.

“Get up and make me something to eat,” He mumbles about 2pm.

I am very slow to move not wanting to upset him again.

What have I gotten myself into?

For the last 7 months, he has been working nights. I try to keep our house perfect, I want for nothing, but it's lonely. It’s 6am right now and I have to be asleep when he gets home. Otherwise, he will be angry and beat me.

I hear the door open, and I clinch my sheets, trying to steady my breathing so he will think I am asleep.

I miss my Sedit. The one who held me close and kissed me like I was the most important person in the world. I miss the guy who called me his perfect match and kissed my cheeks as I slept. He is gone.

Replaced by an evil shell. On the outside, he is still the boy I fell madly in love with, but his eyes have gone cold. His touch just as rough.

I hear the bedroom door open, but I don’t move. I hear him sigh. Oh, good, he is happy today! It is so rare that he comes home happy.

I inhale too, fake waking up. I turn to my back and see him smiling at me.

“How was work?” I ask, with a sleepy smile.

“Very good. We are having a celebration tonight in my father’s house. But for now, I have breakfast, we can eat in bed,” Sedit’s clothes and body are covered in dirt. I look at him with a smile. “After I shower and change. Can you grab coffee for us?”

“Sure,” I smile, so glad he is in a good mood. I get up and start toward him slowly. I swear I see blood on him, but I don’t question him. I don’t want to change his mood. I lean up and kiss his cheek. “I love you.”

“I love you, beautiful,” He smiles at me before leaving the bag on the dresser and going to the shower.

For two 19-year-old kids, we live rather well. Better than most our friends anyway.

We have a two-story home, all the modern upgrades. Our room is upstairs with two others. Downstairs is a great room, with floor to ceiling windows that let in the sunset in the evenings.

Tonight, Sedit will want to watch the sunset before work.

I smile as I make his coffee first. I hurry mine along so I can be back in our room when he is ready.

I am careful on the stairs not to spill and make it back as he is getting out of the shower.

“Perfect timing, Beautiful,” Sedit says and takes his coffee. He sips it and I hold my breath. “Perfect, only you can make it this perfect.”

I release my breath and take the bag over to the bed.

I open the bag and notice my favorite biscuit is here along with a simple sausage biscuit.

I lay both on the bed and let Sedit chose first. He reaches for the sausage, my heart feels excited, but he takes my bacon, egg, and cheese instead. He takes a huge bit and then sips his coffee.

I take the other and eat it while drinking my coffee.

When we finish, I clean up.

“Hey beautiful, how about a little lovin' before I head off to dreamland?” Sedit pulls me back to him.

He doesn’t wait for me to be ready. He hasn’t done that since our first time. He holds my hips so there is no way for me to move. He grunts and it’s over. He rolls off of me.

“So perfect!” He mummers as he falls asleep.

I get up, shower and start my day. I clean up the house, not that anything is ever out of place.

I make lunch at 3pm. Sedit comes down from his sleep and wraps me in a hug. I stiffen at first, not sure what he wanted.

“I love you,” he whispers in my ear. “Can lunch wait?”

“It’s sandwiches,” I tell him.

“Perfect,” He wraps me up and lifts me on to the counter.

His kisses down my neck and removes my shirt. He sucks on my chest, before going lower. Is he really going to prepare me? Is this going to be like our first time?
