A murder Attempt

Lucian.

I'm back.

Back to the pack I was thrown out of. Even though it is obvious that my brothers and father hates me, I'm willing to do everything in my power to win back my father's affection.

My mom, the only person who ever really loved me, died years ago. I was banished from the pack because, according to my father, I'm a threat to my brother who is the next Alpha of the pack.

I had more powers than him and I would usually beat him hands down when we trained on the field as kids. The only thing wrong with it is the fact that he is my elder brother and I am the youngest.

Both my parents are werewolves, so I have no idea how my wolf turned out to be a Lycan. Due to this, my dad saw me entirely different from him yet I still wanted to win his trust and love.

The only way I could is by finding my mate. I'm twenty-five and yet to find my mate. Since I'm desperate to get admitted into the pack again, I had to get a wife immediately and by any means.

I was shocked when I saw that it was the same woman from an hour ago.

"You could have killed my sister," she said with gritted teeth, "If I'd known it was you I never would have signed the certificate!"

'Show her who you are!' Rio, my wolf urged as I could feel anger welling up inside of me, 'No one has ever slapped you before, Lucian!'

"Madam, it isn't his fault!" my driver chipped in "Your sister had run into the car herself. I wasn't even speeding."

She turned to him sharply, "You could have helped but he ordered you to drive and leave her to die! How dare him!"

"Hazel." I called and she turned to me abruptly. I read her mind like an open book. She was wondering how I knew her name.

"I have paid for your sister's medical bills," I spoke under the rage of Rio, "That should make up for the mistake I made."

She chuckled and said, "That is not the only mistake you've made. Why did you choose to marry me?"

I slipped my hands into my pocket and stared at the woman before me. Her hazel orbs blazed brighter with every word she spoke in anger.

"Mistake?" I repeated with a confused expression. "Of course not."

"Why did you marry me then? It is clear we do not belong together. I am unattractive and-"

"You look perfectly okay to me," I cut her off and spun around, "Get in the car."

"I can't-"

"Your sister already placed your belongings inside the car." I answered, having read her mind and said, "I won't drink your blood either. I'm not a vampire."

She stood there, rooted to the spot with her mouth agape in surprise. Time was running and I didn't want to waste anymore time. So I walked over to her and picked her up. Her punch did nothing and I marvelled at how weak humans are.

I placed her into the car and shut the door with a thud. Shortly after, we left the hospital. I tried to ignore her words but I couldn't.

'Get her to shut her mouth!' Rio raged inside of me, 'She should be proud that someone as powerful as you married her!'

"You're spending the rest of your life with me," I mumbled under my breath, "Start getting used to that instead of complaining."

I saw her grit her teeth and then turn the other way. Are humans this feisty and talkative? I didn't even want to read her mind for fear of what she might be thinking. The last thing I wanted was to lose my temper.

I have a very bad one and my wife seated beside me seems to know where my buttons are. I rested my head and shut my eyes. The next day, I would take her to my father and finally have my dream come true.

There's no way they'd sense that she isn't truly my mate, is there? I doubt and hope not, because that would not only keep me away from my pack but it would also attract more punishment.

Suddenly, I heard a distinct noise from miles away. I shut my eyes open abruptly and tried to pick up the scent but it was difficult. I instantly became alert and my body naturally exuded a deadly chill making my driver and my wife glance at me.

"Axel,"

"Yes, Lycan." the driver answered.

"There's something coming towards us, can you feel it?"

"No, sir."

Yeah, right. Axel is just an ordinary werewolf, there's no way he'd get what I'm getting. I shut my eyes and tried to work around the energy. I could feel Hazel's stare on me.

Suddenly, the noise stopped. I shut my eyes open and turned sharply to Hazel, scaring her with my red eyes however that was not the reason I turned.

Immediately I grabbed Hazel's wrist and pulled her into my arms, switching our positions just in time when the accident occured.

We were smashed by a more bigger car. The Maybach spurred uncontrollably and turned over twice before coming to a sudden stop, brutally damaged.

Luckily, I'd acted quick and shielded Hazel and so no one was hurt except I. When we stepped out of the damaged car, Hazel stared at me like she had seen a ghost.

I was bleeding profusely but I knew it would heal soon.

'What you trying to do?' asked Rio sarcastically, 'Tryna show off your strength?'

I ignored him and walked over to the car that had smashed ours but there was no one in it. It seemed that the person had enough time to get away. It was an obvious attempt on my life and if I hadn't acted on time, Hazel would be dead by now and her crazy words would hunt me for the rest of my life.

Axel had contacted the rest of our trope who arrived at the scene a while later. Hazel's eyes were still attached on me, and she was wondering how I managed to save her life.

Her eyes- hazel in color- ran through the tropes that arrived.

"Take her home," I ordered two of my men who wrapped a thick cloth over her and began to take her away.

She looked back at me, her hazel eyes filled with concern and wonder.

I felt something within me.

A place that has been dead for a long time now.

Ever since my mother died, no one showed care or concern towards me. It's been so many years and here was the woman I married whom I had no complete idea about, caring about me.

'She's just human.' said Rio, 'Get the f*cker who tried to kill you! I want to rip out his heart!'
