Alice turned off her mobile and switched on the TV, desperate to divert her thoughts. She couldn't bear to contemplate her current situation right at that moment.
What she needed more than anything was time to process everything, and the truth was, she had no one else to turn to. Leaving Lucas had never been her intention.
When she had signed that marriage contract, she had held onto the hope that someday he would genuinely love her, and she wouldn't have to contemplate leaving his side.
However, as time went on, she was beginning to realize that such a scenario was growing increasingly impossible.
She tried to brush it off and distract herself by watching TV, but her mind kept wandering back to Lucas and his girlfriend.
After a while, Lucas shouts from the dining area "Time to eat "
so fast? She was stunned but turned off the TV and hurried to the dining table. When she saw the dishes on the table she was shocked.
She swallowed as her eyes met his. They are going to eat noodles and omelets for dinner? But she doesn't dare to raise a question.
At least he knew how to make it. She quietly took her place and began to eat. When they were eating she looked at Lucas frequently but she didn't say anything.
After eating he even washed dishes. He was still in the kitchen and Alice went to her bedroom. Lucas's behavior confused Alice even more. She didn't understand why he was being so nice to her suddenly. She had only burnt her hand while cooking, and she didn't think it was such a big deal.
Alice was tossing and turning on the bed, unable to fall asleep. The mere thought of leaving him made her heart skip a beat. She couldn't stop thinking about what it would be like to be without him.
However, she also couldn't help but wonder about his sudden change in behavior. He had never cared about her feelings before, but now he seemed to be showing concern.
Alice couldn't shake off the feeling that he was just trying to avoid feeling guilty and was waiting for the right moment to ask for a divorce.
As she was lost in her thoughts, Alice didn't hear the door open and Lucas climbed into bed beside her. She felt a tremble run through her body when she felt his hand slide around her small waist.
Alice was exhausted and didn't have the energy to satisfy Lucas. If he started, she knew she would break down.
She lay there motionless, not even daring to breathe
Suddenly, she felt his hot breath on her neck, and despite her best efforts, she couldn't help but shiver.
Despite her efforts, she lost control and shrank slightly as his lips began to move around her neck. Alice's heart was beating rapidly and her body arched when he slightly bit the sensitive spot on her collarbone.
She knew that if she didn't stop him now, she wouldn't be able to sleep the whole night. However, she was too afraid to speak up and stop him. He was devastating her with his actions.
As his lips moved to capture her own, Alice turned her face away from him. Lucas's eyes snapped open and his hand on her body suddenly stopped.
His intense gaze watched her for a moment in confusion before he asked her,
"What happened?"
Alice slowly turned her head to look into his eyes,
she saw that there was no emotion in his eyes except anger because she had dared to disobey him.
Summoning her courage, she said, "I don't want to do it today. I'm exhausted."
His brows furrowed in anger, and he immediately moved away from her body.
Alice turned to the other side and felt him getting up from the bed and leaving the room, closing the door forcefully behind him.
She couldn't hold back her tears any longer and started crying.
Alice was feeling terrible, and she couldn't understand why. She had known from the start that her relationship with Lucas would have negative consequences, but she couldn't shake off her despair.
She cried all night, and even in the morning, she felt terrible.
Her head was heavy, and she didn't have the energy to wake Lucas up. After making breakfast, she went to work.
Alice was in the midst of her work when her friend Siya unexpectedly called her.
"Hello"
She diverted her attention from her computer and answered the call.
"Alice, we are planning to go out for dinner, so I thought why don't you join us?"
Siya invited Alice to join her for dinner with her colleagues.
Alice hesitated before looking towards Lucas's office. She hadn't seen him the whole day.
Finally, she agreed to go out with Siya and Siya was so happy.
This was the first time because, in the past, Alice always found excuses to avoid going out with friends.
After hanging up the call, Alice took a deep breath and put her palm on her face. She was lost in her thoughts and didn't know how to handle them.
Siya picked up Alice after work since she had come to the office by subway and hadn't brought her car. Alice always liked to be around people whenever she was feeling low, although she didn't have many people to turn to.
"Is everything alright?" Siya asked, seeing Alice's pale and silent face on the way.
"Yeah," Alice turned her eyes from the window to Siya and forced a smile.
"Don't lie, I know you. Tell me what's going on?" All over Alice's face, it was written that something was wrong with her.
"I'm fine, you know how stressed I am at work right now. I haven't finished one of my projects yet, and now I have some other projects"
Alice said trying to come up with something practical.
Siya knew about Alice's work pressure so she didn't ask more.
Alice didn't want to make Siya worry so she acted like she was fine. Dinner was with Siya's colleagues. Everyone was very friendly so Alice felt a bit refreshed.
When they were about to leave the hotel after dinner. Siya suddenly noticed something."Is that the cause of your desperation? She looked at Alice as her eyes drifted away again. Alice was confused and followed the sight of Siya. Her breath stopped when her eyes caught a familiar figure walking towards the car with a gorgeous figure in his arms. Lucas and Milla. Alice quickly rolled her eyes."Let's go" and got into the car. Siya was very furious and slammed the car door behind her."Just leave him. Why are you killing yourself?" she yelled at Alice as she took her seat. Alice wiped away her tears."You obviously know I can't do it," Alice sobbed."You can do it. You have to do it yourself" Siya knows how hard Alice's life was and the circumstances under which she married Lucas. Alice was devastated and cried."I can't do it. Leaving him, where will I go? I don't have anyone. He is the reason I get up in the morning and go home at night"Siya was scared to see Alice's madness."I'm he
The following morning, when she woke up, Alice found herself alone in bed.Over the past three years, she had always woken up alone, but today, she felt especially lonely. She got up with a heavy heart and went to work.As soon as she entered the office, she sensed that something was off. Everyone was gossiping about Lucas."What happened?" Alice asked one of her colleagues."You don't know what happened?" she said in shock, and Alice shook her head."Check your group chat," the colleague suggested. Alice went to her office and opened her social media group chat. Her whole world crumbled when she saw the pictures and news. There was news about Lucas and Milla being spotted at the airport together. He wasn't going on a business trip; he was on vacation.Upon returning home, Alice went straight to her bedroom and began packing all her things. Luckily, she did not have much to pack. After she finished, she left the house.when she was leaving she didn't dare to look at the house where sh
James felt as if his heart was pounding in his chest. He had never experienced such nervousness in his entire life. What's wrong with him?He gingerly raised his hand and touched the zipper of her dress, feeling a lump in his throat as his eyes were captivated by her soft, flawless, white skin.Alice clutched her dress tightly around her thighs when James's fingers accidentally brushed against her skin. She trembled, her breath catching in her throat. Except for Lucas, no man had ever touched her, so her body was incredibly sensitive to the touch.A spark seemed to ignite within her body when James's fingers made contact with her skin again. She bit down on her lips so hard that she feared they might start bleeding soon. The first time his fingers touched her skin, it was accidental, but the second time, James intentionally brushed his fingers against her. As his fingers grazed her skin, he could feel her body reacting just as his—they were both trembling.Once he zipped the dress to t
As she stepped out of the elevator, her mobile began to vibrate inside her bag. She pulled it out and her breath hitched in her throat when she saw the caller ID - it was Lucas. He had never called her before. Alice nervously bit down on her bottom lip, her hand trembling as she stared at the screen."Why is he calling me? Did he return already?" Questions raced through her mind."He must have returned," she mumbled to herself, but she didn't answer the call.Perhaps he had come home and, not finding her, wanted to know her whereabouts. But why now? He had never shown such concern for her before. Then again, she had never been late getting home before. She was always there with a smile whenever he returned home.Alice tried to shake off the thoughts that were scaring and panicking her, quickly putting her mobile back into her bag and heading to her room. If she answered his call, he might freak out on her, and she feared she would weaken and run back to him, something she couldn't aff
Alice let out a moan as his tongue slid into her mouth, their passionate kiss deepening. Her body arched in response, and her hands instinctively found their way into his soft hair. Lucas moved his lips over every inch of her body, leaving her with sensations akin to a hungry beast exploring its prey.Alice had never witnessed this side of him before. He had always been the epitome of strictness and elegance, never once deviating from his composed demeanor. However, today was different, and something seemed off about him. Each of his movements seemed to carry a heavy sense of punishment directed at her.His stern approach overwhelmed Alice, leaving her physically and emotionally drained by the time he finally distanced himself from her and collapsed beside her on the bed, it was like death for her. Both of them lay there, their breaths heavy, bodies sweaty.Alice pulled up the blanket and wrapped it around herself, closing her eyes. Lucas turned his head and gazed at Alice. As he obse
The ride was filled with an uncomfortable silence. Alice was lost in her thoughts, and James seemed to sense her unease. He cleared his throat, attempting to break the tension."Are you doing okay?" James asked, concern lacing his voice. She hesitated for a moment, trying to come up with an excuse."Oh, it's just a rough night's sleep. Nothing to worry about."Though unconvinced, James nodded, deciding not to press further."Alright, if you say so. But remember, I'm here if you need to talk."Alice nodded, appreciating his understanding. As they reached her office, Alice got out of the car and turned to James, offering a genuine smile."Thank you for the ride and for being so understanding, James. I appreciate it."He smiled back, reassuringly. "Anytime, Alice. Remember, if you need to talk or if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know."She nodded appreciatively, feeling a sense of warmth from his support. "I will. Have a good day, James.""You too, Alice. Take care," he
Alice sighed as she absentmindedly played with her food on the plate."I'm considering taking a break until the delivery. What do you think?" After pondering for a while, she looked at Siya.Siya let out a worried sigh and nodded."I think that's the right decision, but can you handle it?" Siya had concerns about Alice's mental state.Since Alice had discovered her pregnancy, she had been under a great deal of stress. Staying home all day might exacerbate her anxiety."I'll work as a freelancer," Alice explained.Siya agreed with Alice's plan, understanding that it was a reasonable choice. Finding new work in her current state would be nearly impossible, and freelancing would provide her with more flexibility during this challenging time. The next day, Alice made her way to the company, clutching her resignation letter in her trembling hand. It was a difficult decision, and her heart was heavy with the weight of it all.As she entered the office, she felt a sense of anxiety, knowing t
Alice was afraid that if she moved too much, he might discover her growing belly. So, she ceased her struggles and allowed him to kiss her.As she stopped resisting, Lucas pulled her closer, but Alice maintained some distance between them. She was determined not to let her body touch his, as that would reveal her rounding belly.Lucas grew increasingly frustrated by her reluctance. He vented his anger by biting, sucking, and licking her lips.Alice could feel the intensity of his emotions, and before he lost control completely, she decided to kiss him back.Lucas was satisfied with her response, and his anger gradually subsided. He had missed her touch, her kisses, and the feeling of her body against his. Since their divorce, he had been restless, but now, he felt a sense of calm, if only for the moment.Kissing her was not enough for him, but for now, it would have to do. Lucas pulled away when he sensed Alice's labored breath. He rested his forehead against hers, and they both breat
