When they were about to leave the hotel after dinner. Siya suddenly noticed something.
"Is that the cause of your desperation? She looked at Alice as her eyes drifted away again. Alice was confused and followed the sight of Siya.
Her breath stopped when her eyes caught a familiar figure walking towards the car with a gorgeous figure in his arms. Lucas and Milla. Alice quickly rolled her eyes.
"Let's go" and got into the car. Siya was very furious and slammed the car door behind her.
"Just leave him. Why are you killing yourself?" she yelled at Alice as she took her seat. Alice wiped away her tears.
"You obviously know I can't do it," Alice sobbed.
"You can do it. You have to do it yourself" Siya knows how hard Alice's life was and the circumstances under which she married Lucas. Alice was devastated and cried.
"I can't do it. Leaving him, where will I go? I don't have anyone. He is the reason I get up in the morning and go home at night"
Siya was scared to see Alice's madness.
"I'm here for you, you're killing yourself. You also need someone who can respect you, love you, and take good care of you. You also know very well that this relationship has no future. If you abandon it today, tomorrow will be easy for you, otherwise, it will hurt more tomorrow. Before he abandons you, you have to end this relationship so You won't regret it. Now, you have a clear reason for divorce "
Siya encouraged her to leave Lucas.
Alice was scared to leave Lucas's side because she didn't have anyone else in her life.
Her mother died when she was young and then her father remarried. Her stepmother always used to torture her. She grew up without the love and care which now she desperately needed but she will never get from Lucas. Her father was the only person who loved her, but since he also died two years ago, she is alone. She has nowhere to go.
Siya tried her best to persuade Alice to go out with her, but Alice refused, insisting on staying home. Siya dropped Alice and left.
Alice was certain that Lucas would not be returning home that day, and she needed some time to be alone with her thoughts. However, when she entered the house, she was surprised to find Lucas sitting in the living room, talking on the phone.
He abruptly ended the call and stood up as soon as he saw Alice.
"Where have you been?" he asked in a cold voice, as expected.
"I was with my friend," Alice replied in a quiet voice and started to head upstairs.
"Friend? Male or female?" Alice stopped in her tracks and turned around in surprise.
"Why does it matter? It's my personal choice who I choose to be friends with," she said, feeling defensive. Lucas's expression turned dark as he moved closer to Alice.
"Yes, it does matter," he said, reaching out to lift her chin with his fingers. Alice trembled at the sight of his furious eyes.
"You are my wife, and I don't like other men touching what is mine."
He was completely different from other days. She had never seen him this angry before, and she couldn't understand why he was so upset.
"What are you talking about? It's my decision who can touch me or not. Where is this coming from?" Alice couldn't help but ask, her voice laced with bitterness.
Lucas's eyebrows furrowed in anger. Alice noticed that his chest was heaving, and he tightened his grip on her face. Her heart raced as she looked into his unyielding gaze.
Without taking his eyes off her, Lucas opened his phone and held it up to Alice's face. She was confused and looked at the screen to see a photo of herself with one of Siya's male friends. They had been sitting together at dinner, talking and laughing. It was clear that Lucas had seen her at the dinner.
"What does this mean?" Alice asked.
"You tell me what it means," Lucas retorted. Alice gasped in anger and pushed his hand away, stepping back slightly.
"We were just having dinner, and there were other friends there too," she said.
She had never questioned him about his own affairs, but he was angry just because she had gone out with her friends. Lucas closed his eyes as if he were trying to control his irritation.
"I don't care how many people were there. The question is simple: why were you with a man?"
Alice looked at him in annoyance. Her hands clenched into fists.
"I already told you I was there with my friend Siya. He is her colleague and we were just talking that's it"
She really didn't understand why he was behaving like this.
Lucas gritted his teeth but didn't say anything.
Alice stared at the man for a moment before she turned around and walked up the stairs.
As she ascended, she felt his presence following her, causing her to frown. However, he did not enter her room and instead went on his own.
Alice exhaled as she closed her door, which she realized she had been holding onto. She tossed her bag onto the bed and headed to the bathroom. Her heart was heavy, and she only wanted to escape and cry out all her emotions.
However, she did not know where to go, so she wept silently in the bathroom. When she grew tired of crying, she wrapped herself in towels and left the bathroom.
However, her peace was only for a moment, Alice spotted Lucas lying on the bed, her body quivering, as if she had been jolted by an electric current.
His eyes were closed.
She sat down on the edge of the bed and stared at the sleeping man's face.
Why was he here? She could not understand this man.
Moments ago, he had been furious with her, but now he was sleeping in her bed.
Why did he come to her every day?
After pondering for a while, Alice decided to lie down, but as soon as she did, she was enveloped in large arms. She gasped in shock, she had thought he had already fallen asleep.
Lucas pulled her against his body, and Alice's back was pressed against him. She could feel a burning sensation emanating from his body, but he did not move any further. Instead, he held her tightly against his body, with his face buried in her neck. Alice felt suffocated, not because she despised his touch, but because of her feelings.
It hurts the most when you are going through something that's killing you inside and you have to act like it doesn't affect you at all.
"Tomorrow I'm leaving for a business trip"
Lucas suddenly whispered in her ear.
Alice was momentarily stunned because this was the first time he had mentioned he was going somewhere.
"When will you be back?" she asked.
He shifted slightly against her neck before replying, "In three days."
Alice did not know why, but she felt warmth in her heart.
She couldn't help but begin to believe that he was changing and beginning to care for her. Time passed, and sleep eluded her eyes, but she could feel his calm breaths. She did not know when she had fallen asleep
The following morning, when she woke up, Alice found herself alone in bed.Over the past three years, she had always woken up alone, but today, she felt especially lonely. She got up with a heavy heart and went to work.As soon as she entered the office, she sensed that something was off. Everyone was gossiping about Lucas."What happened?" Alice asked one of her colleagues."You don't know what happened?" she said in shock, and Alice shook her head."Check your group chat," the colleague suggested. Alice went to her office and opened her social media group chat. Her whole world crumbled when she saw the pictures and news. There was news about Lucas and Milla being spotted at the airport together. He wasn't going on a business trip; he was on vacation.Upon returning home, Alice went straight to her bedroom and began packing all her things. Luckily, she did not have much to pack. After she finished, she left the house.when she was leaving she didn't dare to look at the house where sh
James felt as if his heart was pounding in his chest. She trembled, her breath catching in her throat. She bit down on her lips so hard that she feared they might start bleeding soon. The first time his fingers touched her skin, it was accidental, but the second time, James intentionally brushed his fingers against her. As she stepped out of the elevator, her mobile began to vibrate inside her bag. She pulled it out and her breath hitched in her throat when she saw the caller ID - it was Lucas. He had never called her before. Alice nervously bit down on her bottom lip, her hand trembling as she stared at the screen."Why is he calling me? Did he return already?" Questions raced through her mind."He must have returned," she mumbled to herself, but she didn't answer the call.Perhaps he had come home and, not finding her, wanted to know her whereabouts. But why now? He had never shown such concern for her before. Then again, she had never been late getting home before. She was always there with a smile whenever he returned home.Alice tried to shake off the thoughts that were scaring and panicking her, quickly putting her mobile back into her bag and heading to her room. If she answered his call, he might freak out on her, and she feared she would weaken and run back to him, something she couldn't aff
Alice let out a moan as his tongue slid into her mouth, their passionate kiss deepening. Her body arched in response, and her hands instinctively found their way into his soft hair. Lucas moved his lips over every inch of her body, leaving her with sensations akin to a hungry beast exploring its prey.Alice had never witnessed this side of him before. He had always been the epitome of strictness and elegance, never once deviating from his composed demeanor. However, today was different, and something seemed off about him. Each of his movements seemed to carry a heavy sense of punishment directed at her.His stern approach overwhelmed Alice, leaving her physically and emotionally drained by the time he finally distanced himself from her and collapsed beside her on the bed, it was like death for her. Both of them lay there, their breaths heavy, bodies sweaty.Alice pulled up the blanket and wrapped it around herself, closing her eyes. Lucas turned his head and gazed at Alice. As he obse
The ride was filled with an uncomfortable silence. Alice was lost in her thoughts, and James seemed to sense her unease. He cleared his throat, attempting to break the tension."Are you doing okay?" James asked, concern lacing his voice. She hesitated for a moment, trying to come up with an excuse."Oh, it's just a rough night's sleep. Nothing to worry about."Though unconvinced, James nodded, deciding not to press further."Alright, if you say so. But remember, I'm here if you need to talk."Alice nodded, appreciating his understanding. As they reached her office, Alice got out of the car and turned to James, offering a genuine smile."Thank you for the ride and for being so understanding, James. I appreciate it."He smiled back, reassuringly. "Anytime, Alice. Remember, if you need to talk or if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know."She nodded appreciatively, feeling a sense of warmth from his support. "I will. Have a good day, James.""You too, Alice. Take care," he
Alice sighed as she absentmindedly played with her food on the plate."I'm considering taking a break until the delivery. What do you think?" After pondering for a while, she looked at Siya.Siya let out a worried sigh and nodded."I think that's the right decision, but can you handle it?" Siya had concerns about Alice's mental state.Since Alice had discovered her pregnancy, she had been under a great deal of stress. Staying home all day might exacerbate her anxiety."I'll work as a freelancer," Alice explained.Siya agreed with Alice's plan, understanding that it was a reasonable choice. Finding new work in her current state would be nearly impossible, and freelancing would provide her with more flexibility during this challenging time. The next day, Alice made her way to the company, clutching her resignation letter in her trembling hand. It was a difficult decision, and her heart was heavy with the weight of it all.As she entered the office, she felt a sense of anxiety, knowing t
Alice was afraid that if she moved too much, he might discover her growing belly. So, she ceased her struggles and allowed him to kiss her.As she stopped resisting, Lucas pulled her closer, but Alice maintained some distance between them. She was determined not to let her body touch his, as that would reveal her rounding belly.Lucas grew increasingly frustrated by her reluctance. He vented his anger by biting, sucking, and licking her lips.Alice could feel the intensity of his emotions, and before he lost control completely, she decided to kiss him back.Lucas was satisfied with her response, and his anger gradually subsided. He had missed her touch, her kisses, and the feeling of her body against his. Since their divorce, he had been restless, but now, he felt a sense of calm, if only for the moment.Kissing her was not enough for him, but for now, it would have to do. Lucas pulled away when he sensed Alice's labored breath. He rested his forehead against hers, and they both breat
James was trying to process this information."I had no idea. I mean, you never mentioned any of this before.""I'm so sorry for not telling you earlier," Alice apologized, looking down at her lap."It's just that everything happened so quickly, and I was trying to adjust to the changes in my life."James tried to process this unexpected revelation. It was a lot to take in.Alice continued, "The reason I'm telling you all this is because... I don't want to keep it a secret. I thought you should know."James's expression filled with concern. "And now, you're pregnant?"Alice nodded, her gaze dropping to her belly. "Yes, and it's been quite a surprise for me too. I didn't plan for any of this.""What about your husband? Did he know about your pregnancy?" James inquired."No, he doesn't, and I don't have any plans to tell him," Alice replied with a hint of sadness. James was taken aback by her response. He couldn't help but ask."Why did you get divorced?"Alice fell into silence. She co
