She just wasn't that kind of woman. I turned away from the closed doors. If I hadn't been straining my ears so hard, I wouldn't have caught the soft admittance. Was this what that Kai guy meant when he told me to stay close after I was kicked out?

I'd been so sure that Adrian was going to kick his ass, but that hadn't happened.

I wasn't about to stay here. Whatever was going on with those two, I didn't care anymore. I needed to get out of there, and back to Betty's side. I had to talk to her.
