Chapter 104

Liya’s POV

The forest floor felt welcoming beneath my throbbing back, the cool night air a balm on my sweat-slicked skin. But the triplets wouldn't hear of it.

Apparently, a near-death experience with a vengeful vampire wasn't enough to convince them I was perfectly fine.

Note the extreme sarcasm.

I knew I was a bit weak, but I was fine. It was nothing serious.

I had to remind them I had been doing fine on my own before our paths crossed again, but I knew that would start a war I wasn’t ready for. So I just let them do what they want and played along with it.

"Hospital," Ryder declared, his voice leaving no room for argument. "Now."

"Guys, seriously," I groaned, pushing myself up to a sitting position. "I'm fine. Just a few scratches and a bruised ego, courtesy of Mr. Fangs-a-lot."

Gunter knelt beside me; his brow furrowed in concern. "Scratches? Liya, you were wrestling a vampire! You could be internally bleeding, and we don’t know what he could have done to you!"
