Final reconciliation or not?

Catherine’s POV

“Okay, your favorite episode of SpongeBob is playing,” I said, as I lowered the volume of the television to an optimal level. “Don't fight and don't make noise. Mummy will be back soon.”

“Is daddy mad at grandma?” Leo asked, doe eyes staring at me inquisitively. “Did grandma steal his toys?”

“Daddy doesn't play with toys, silly. He's too old for that,” Liam said, and the both of them laughed, causing me to shake my head.

“No, daddy isn't mad at grandma. They just need to talk about grown-ups stuff,” I said. “I'm leaving now for real.”

“Okay, mummy.” They chorused, and I darted a smile before turning to leave.

Making my way back into the dining room, my heart scudded with a mix of emotions ranging from curiosity as to why Alessandro's mum was here, and mild anger.

She hadn't even bothered to attend our second wedding, even though we had sent her a ticket and a wedding invitation card.
