Reconciliation

Alessandro’s POV

“Happy new year, my love,” I said to Catherine, before leaning in to seal my lips over hers in a chaste kiss.

“Same to you, babe,” She smiled, as I pulled away. “Last year was a rollercoaster. Hopefully this year is easier on us.”

“I hope so too, baby,” I uttered. “May we see many more years to come as a strong family whose bond would never be broken.”

My wife smiled again, then tugged her arm into mine. “We will, I'm sure of it.”

Catherine and I were currently on the balcony of our house watching the beautiful fireworks display in the sky while Liam and Leo were fast asleep.

We had decided against waking them up to see the fireworks because it'd be a hassle to get them to fall asleep again.

Wrapping my arm around Catherine, I said. “Let's go in, baby. I don't want you tiring yourself out. You've not had a morning shift in months. I mean, you own the hospital and you have seasoned neurosurgeons there, why can't you give yourself some time off?”
