Chapter 3

Samantha Downs ~

“What do you want from me? Can’t you just let me go?” I said trying to hold back tears.

This guy is a Mafia Lord? That explains everything. The henchmen, the guns, the whole kidnapping me and my parents, the luxurious mansion and the devious look in his eyes everytime mine meet his. Everything but why he needs me. Every second I spend with him makes me feel worse than the last. What if he intends to hurt me?

I’ve never encountered one before but I've heard dreadful stories about them. They don’t really keep good reputations. I never intended to meet one and certainly not make a deal with one but what choice do I have? He definitely isn’t bluffing about killing my parents.

“Sam, can I call you Sam? I’ll call you Sam. What I want is really simple. A deal!”

“What deal??” I know this isn’t going to end well considering the fact that I am about to strike a deal with a dangerous Mafia Lord still I am going to have to do it all the same.

Striking whatever deal he has in mind is way better than having my parents die at his behest. He’ll probably even kill me as well if I don't comply.

“Glad you asked miss Sam.” he cooed before he stood up, went to the light switches and turned some more on.

I could see him more clearly for the man he appeared as. He looked nothing more than 26 years of age judging by his looks. Jaden is tall about six feet in height and brawny as well. He is muscular in a charming sort of way. His eyes toned in brown.

I just wanted to steal a glance at him but I ended up holding on to that glance. His black long hair rested stylishly on his shoulder. The scarlet red suit he is putting on missed a tie but still, it complemented his looks perfectly.

I would be lying if I say he isn’t a charming-looking fellow. Too bad he is a dangerous Mafia Lord. He may look so perfect but my anger makes me see all that in the complete opposite.

“I didn’t turn on more lights just so you could admire me with those hazel eyes of yours. I did to put to your attention, the files before you.” Jaden corrected pulling me out of my wild thoughts.

It took me a few seconds to get what he had said. I took a file and held it in my hands. If my guess is right, these are files containing the life info of someone else.

“Open it!” he said in a low tone advancing towards me.

I brought out the contents of the file and found pictures and printed MS-word files concerning a young and handsome man probably within similar age range with Jaden.

“Mr. Jaden…”

“Don’t call me that!” he said cutting me off with some sense of annoyance. “Jaden, is just fine.”

“… Jaden, who is this?” I asked now directing the photographs towards him.

“Your questions are beginning to bore me in an irritating manner, Sam.” “The man that you see there is the target of the deal…”

“Wait a minute! Isn’t this Nathaniel Kress? Son of the retired CEO of Kress’ League of Companies, Alexander Kress? Now the CEO of those companies?” I asked recollecting the identity of the young man in the photographs.

“Don’t you ever interrupt me again!” he said immediately the last words slipped out of my mouth.

I can tell that he is trying so hard to conceal his anger.

“You are right! The target is no one other than Nathaniel Kress, CEO of Kress’ League of Companies. The multi-billion dollar corporation.” he added taking an exhale as he continued walking towards me in slow steps.

“Some of those files contain a lot of details about him even as far as personality details. Everything you need to know to make him fall in love with you is there as well.” Jaden said giving a smile that went from the end of one side of his mouth.

“You want me to fall in love with him?” I asked with widened eyes.

“Hell no! If you do that, I’ll have to kill you. I don’t need you to fall in love with him on the contrary, I need you to make him fall in love with you.” Jaden answered before making a stop at my chair and held it firmly from behind. "Don't worry, he's not married neither engaged so it's going to be easier to get his attention and most of all, keep it."

“He knows something about someone very important to me but the thing is, he won’t tell me or anyone else and just like you want your parents breathing and in good health, I also want that info, as soon as possible.” he said using his hands to rub my shoulders in a seductive manner.

“What exactly do I have to do with all this?” I asked turning to meet those brown eyes.

Jaden leaned down to my left ear and said, “EVERYTHING!”

“The weakness of every man is his heart. You want your mom and dad back, alive, all you have to do is steal his heart without giving him yours and then get him to tell you one thing.” “The location of the center house of THE GOLDEN ARROWS.”

“Don’t worry, when the time comes, he’ll know what that is and if you’re successful, so will you. Then, all you have to do is tell me and you'll get your old folks back.” Jaden added before he continued running his hands on my shoulders.

“You haven’t still answered my question yet. What exactly do I have to do with all this?” I asked sheepishly resisting his touches.

“You are the perfect lady for the job. I’ve done my research on you and I must say, I’m impressed. Your beauty also adds up in the recipe of a successful mission.” Jaden said placing a hand on my cheek and brushing it in counter directions.

What the hell is this guy up to?

“Let me get this straight. You kidnapped me and my parents to begin with. Made a lot of creepy research on my… well, everything and those of Nathaniel Kress and want me to get some important info from him by making him fall in love with me then report back to you in exchange for my parents and if I don’t pull through with this crazy deal as you wish, you’ll kill them both?”

“Absolutely!”
