Chapter 4

Samantha Downs ~

“Let me get this straight. You kidnapped me and my parents to begin with. Made a lot of creepy research on my… well, everything and those of Nathaniel Kress and want me to get some important info from him by making him fall in love with me then report back to you in exchange for my parents and if I don’t pull through with this crazy deal as you wish, you’ll kill them both?”

 “Absolutely! You’re a smart one after all. You seem to be catching on quite nicely with the terms of the deal.” I heard Jaden say and I could tell even though I am not looking at him, that there was a smirk on his face.

“No!” I said with my eyes closed. “I won’t do it!”

How on earth am I going to do any of that? Make the CEO of a multi-billionaire company fall in love with me? How is that ever going to happen? I’m nowhere close to his class.

I just can’t.

God knows what he’ll do to the CEO when he has obtained whatever stupid info he seeks in his hands.

“Why don’t you just point a gun to his head and then he’ll tell you all you want to know about…the location… of The Golden Arrows?” I said even though a part of me didn’t agree with those words.

“I’ve tried my best to treat you like a lady Sam. Don’t ruin my efforts by getting on my bad side. Trust me, you don’t want to be there.” he said in a tone suggesting fear, and anger towards me.

“As much as I want to, I can’t. That method won’t work to get me what I want.” Jaden said heaving a sigh as he walked slowly heading for his seat.

“Why not? Don’t tell me he isn’t afraid of guns?”

“It just won’t work alright?!?”

"Jaden, I get it that you're desperate for whatever info you need from him but take it from me. You kidnapped the wrong girl. You don’t expect someone like me to do all that, do you? I can’t." ". How on earth am I supposed to make one of the most influential and wealthy men in America fall in love with me?" I asked standing up with my hands crossed.

“Figure that out! You might as well fake it until you make it. You have all the financial support you need right here.”

“Your gorgeous looks, especially your curves are tempting enough to put him on his knees plus you’ll have an opportunity to get in a position where you can make him fall in love with you.” “You get to be his personal secretary.”

“You also want me to get hired as his secretary? No way! You read it yourself. I signed a contract and would be leaving town soonest, in the next one day.” I said trying to sound tough.

He wants me to forfeit my dream-job too?

“You’ll do it or do I need remind you of the leverage I have in this deal?” he said waving his hands and the two men that have been standing beside the door pulled their hands simultaneously into their pockets.

“As for the contract with Dimitri’s Collections, leave that to me. You’ll be there just in time, just not as the real ‘Samantha Downs’.” “So what do you say?” Jaden asked with another annoying smirk on his face.

“Do I have a choice?” I said as a tear fell down my cheeks.

I cleared the tear out with a finger before Jaden could notice it. I have to make this deal. Getting him the information he wants from the CEO is the only way to assure the lives of my parents. I’ll have to throw away or at least put to a pause all my future plans just so this can work out.

I have no choice in this except the one that he wants.

“Yes. Deal!” I said with a firm voice. “But on one condition!”

“I hate conditions and you’re in no position to be making demands so what do you want?”

“The assurance of my parents’ good health, for starters. I want you to send me a video of them for every day that passes.” I said pushing the seat aside and walking towards him.

“Haha! Done! But you won’t get to speak to them until I grant you the opprtunity.” “Now, it’s my turn to add a condition to make it all balanced.” Jaden said standing up and he began walking to me in solid steps.

“You…have…Three…Months!! Three months to get what I want or I’ll break the deal as well as their necks.” he stopped in front of me and stretched out his hand. “Deal?”

I looked into his eyes one more time. I couldn’t find any weakness in them. They seemed like coals burning with a fire so hot yet so dark.

“Deal!” I said putting my hand in his for a shake to seal the deal.

“Perfect! One more thing, NO COPS. You understand what I mean. I don’t need to go deeper.” Jaden said releasing my hand from his.

“I get it. Can I go now?” I asked hitting the nail on the head.

“Yes! But you’ll need those files for the mission. Everything that will help you capture his fancy are in those files. Go home and get some rest. You have a long day ahead of you tomorrow.” “Don’t worry, being a secretary is not as hard as you may want to think. Your knowledge on economics might prove very useful in overseeing certain parts of the company.”

I ignored him and went to take the files. I really don’t care what the hell is in them but if they’ll make this whole ‘deal’ faster and more efficient, I’ll go along with it.

I got them and walked straight for the door but the men there wouldn’t let me pass.

“You have all the support from me that you require, Sam. Just ask and its yours.” he said. “I advise you put all your focus and do all it takes to make it a success ‘cause I will.”

“Just tell them to get the hell out of my way. Please.” I said eyes still on the door.

“Please.”
