Chapter 51

I opened my eyes and frowned at the unfamiliar room.

It was only a second before his scent hit me like a ton of bricks and the memories of the last 24 hours came rushing back to me.

I sank deeper into the soft mattress that smelled like him and a smile graced my lips as I remembered how gentle he had been with me last night.

I couldn't tell what had gotten into him but whatever it was, let me see the side of him I'd never seen before and I was certain not many people had had the privilege to.

Our conversation with each other last night had been civil and one would think we were friends.

I wish we were.

He was a lot more tolerable when he wasn't looking like he was about to kill someone and I caught myself wanting to see that part of him more often.

He had even smiled.

Not a cocky smirk or an evil smile, an actual one that let me get a glimpse of his perfect dentition.

I hated to admit it but he was a very handsome man and I felt something strange whenever I was with him.
