Chapter Fifty One

"Hello, Dad," I said with a mix of anticipation and curiosity, wondering what he had in mind.

"Hello to you, Josh. How are you?" he asked, his voice reflecting genuine happiness.

"Okay, Dad, I'm fine. It's great to hear from you," I replied, a sense of warmth filling our conversation.

"Oh, Josh, always try to call your old man once in a while," he said with a touch of playful advice.

Suddenly, guilt washed over me. "I'm sorry, Dad. I've been tied up with work," I confessed.

"Not to worry, son. I know you're busy, but out of your busy schedule, create time to call," he reassured, understanding in his tone.

"Alright, Dad," I said, my guilt lingering as I wondered about the purpose of his call.

"What's the latest between you and Harper?" he asked out of the blue, a hint of curiosity in his voice.

A smile crept onto my face as I shared the news of Harper and me being officially together. "I can't wait for them to see us together," I admitted, my excitement evident.
