I felt bad for Abigail. The embarrassment she must have endured before I got there. I couldn’t even imagine it. I didn’t understand what was going through Christine’s head as she did something as stupid as throwing her drink at her.

“What the fuck were you thinking? Are you okay?” I asked as soon as we were a safe distance away from the hotel. “Taking pictures of me when you know damn well I hate being photographed? Putting someone on me? Disrespecting another woman in front of everyone?”

“I just wanted to know what you were up to and I didn't disrespect her. She deserved it.” She fired back at me. “She was fucking a married man after all. I should have slapped her harder.”

“Like I said, she deserves it,” Christine answered, seeming bored. “I knew something was going on between you two at that luncheon but I got to confirm it myself.”
