43. A scare

“Why the fuck do you mean by your pregnant!?”

“Shhh.” I shushed Maya aggressively even if we were the only ones in our apartment. “Be quiet.” For some reason, I thought saying it out loud would make it come true. I hadn’t done any tests so I wasn’t certain. “I said there’s a possibility.”

I hadn’t told Maya as soon as I suspected it. I had waited one more week to observe things. I’d done extensive research on Google just to make sure I truly had pregnancy signs. I didn’t want it to be true, which was why I kept hoping they would be signs of something else, like a minor sickness.

Don’t get me wrong. I had nothing against babies, but just not at this age. What would my mom think of me? I didn’t have a husband yet. Hell, I wasn’t even in a relationship. My mom had always warned us about having safe sex, but I met George and all I knew about safe sex flew out the window.

If we thought about it, it was both our faults. We fucked raw without thinking about the consequences
