Rook shifted and before anyone could react, he was already hugging his grandmother and checking if she was okay.

“Crys,” he called out as Gianna folded into his arms. He was pushed aside as Lenard grabbed his mate. Rook looked at his mate who was still in her dragon form, the glitter in her eyes had him hastily moving to one side as dragon flame engulfed Gianna and Lenard. Howls of shock and anger echoed through the air, and it took Rooks roar and his full alpha power to prevent his pack from attacking Crystal. Even as he held his pack at bay, they all could hear soft laughter floating in the air.

“I wonder what these wolves would have done in the war?” Gianna’s voice was faint but could be clearly heard by all the wolves around them.

“Killed everything that moved and not thought twice,” Lenard answered.
