Lilliana’s POV

It’s been more than five days since I was admitted to the hospital and despite telling the doctors that I was fine, none of them listened to me.

The one who listened only told me that they needed me to remain in the hospital so that they’d be able to give me proper care.

“You’re going to be discharged today.” The words of the doctor still rang in my head and I just can’t wait to leave because the smell of the drugs and antiseptics was disgusting.

“How’s my baby?” I’d asked when I woke up, my voice bridling with worry as tears welled up in my eyes. I couldn’t hide my relief when the doctor told me that my baby was fine.

“You’re both out of the woods and are ready to go.” He had said, making me smile as I instinctively rubbed my belly with relief washing over me.

I couldn’t help but wonder what had happened to me and when I asked, I hated the direction of thinking my mind took when I was told that my food was poisoned.

Nikolai would never try to poison me no matter what.
