After our big fight, Eugene and I didn't talk to each other in private anymore. We only spoke when we acted 'in love' in front of our parents when we were fighting internally to be away from each other as far as possible. I was hurt by what Eugene told me, and I was hurt by the truth of his words when he said them to me. You are a heartless person. I could never forget those few words. These few words of truth hurt me more than I thought it would. I was shutting myself away from society and my family and friends. I guess they never knew the pain I was going through because I hid it so well to avoid attention to the matter.
Eugene would also be more in the study and library than before. He would join Papa and Alistair more for business gatherings and meetings than he usually did. I guess the business
After our first date together, Eugene and I stopped acting and started conveying each others' feelings to one another. Soon we were on our third date. It was our final date before the wedding, which was today. Eugene came to me late the previous night that I had to be prepared for our last date today. I was curious what he meant by 'I had to be ready', but I just assumed that I had to get ready for it. So, when the time came for preparing, Mama only sent up my assistant to my room to get my things ready for me. Not only was it strange that only my assistant came and not the usual bunch of people to prepare me for the date, but the fact that my assistant only picked out some cute and sassy everyday clothes for me to wear. I gave her a sceptical look, but she only smiled at me and left my room and said I had to enjoy it with a wink before she lef
Melissa's POV It was nearly past eleven p.m. Mom, dad, Clementine, Dominic and I, we were all waiting patiently for Rose and Eugene to come back to the villa. I hope Rose enjoyed her surprise. It took me almost a whole day to find the best wedding ring fitting for her. I know we barely know each other, but in these past few weeks, I've come to acknowledge Rose as not just one of my closest friends, but she feels like the sister I never had. We just clicked. As my thoughts carried me away, we heard the back door open. That must be them! We all stared at each other and started to converse to make ourselves look busy. As soon as they appeared at the entrance to the living room, we stopped and looked at them. Well, this is awkward. Let's try to rescue this situation a little bit before it gets out of hand.
Rose's POV"Rose, how is everything going on your side?" I heard Melissa scream from the other side of the wedding venue."Everything is going smoothly so far,"I said as I told the staff where all the chairs would stand. Since this morning, everyone has been working hard to get the wedding venue ready for tomorrow. Gosh, not to mention that after this, we'll have to head back home to help Mama and Coraline with the engagement party tonight. Apparently, I was the only one who still needed to receive an invitation to my engagement party. Mama and Coraline knew that Eugene would propose to me two nights prior, so they sent the engagement party invitations to everyone. Everything was nearly done at the wedding venue. There were only a few things left to do."Rose!" I heard someone call out to me from the entrance. The second I turned around, my face beamed as I saw who it was."Logan!" I said, almost running him over
It's been about three hours since we came back to the house. The original plan was to help Mama and Coraline with the Engagement Party setup, but they didn't want to hear anything about it. Instead, they kept Eugene and chased me away with my assistant - who in turn tried to guide me to my room without needing to keep Eugene from interfering. Well, needless to say, she was so fed up with dealing with Eugene that I needed to let him off in the kindest way possible. It was the usual 'I'll see you later'.Now, when I was finally pampered and dressed to go, I sat on my balcony overlooking our garden and the forest. I stared towards the grove, where my usual hide-out spot would be, and sighed contently. Wonderful memories flood my mind. I wasted no effort in hiding my smile because why would I?While I was musing about and my mind taking off to places
Eugene's POVIt's been nearly three hours since Rose and I came down to the banquet. Father stole me from enjoying my evening with her to become acquainted with some new business partners for future business deals. It was good, though, because Rose's mother also stole her away to get acquainted with new people. I assumed that her mother was also introducing Rose to her business partners. Pfft. Now that I think about it, Rose and I are only marrying because it was a business transaction between our parents. I find it amusing to think that we are a business deal between our parents. Yet, I wouldn't have it any other way. Rose is caring, emotional and she can stand her ground when needed. She can also take a joke (if it is decent enough, though), and when I'm teasing her, she teases me with the same amount of tease strength I teased her. Now that I think about it, I won the lotto with R
Today was finally the big day. I slept like a baby after Eugene brought me back to my room last night. So, when I woke up this morning, I was surprised with breakfast in bed by Melissa."Good morning, sister-in-law! Or, well, at least soon to be,"Melissa said as she entered my room high spirited."I can't believe today has finally arrived!"I giggled."Someone is high spirited today.""Well, if you're not, I'll be for you,"she said, putting the tray of food in front of me on the bed."Here you go. I made it myself. Or well, your mot
Eugene's POVI hated leaving Rose in the care of Melissa while I went after Cassidy. I could practically feel the hurt in her eyes while she watched me walk away in the direction the guards took Cassidy. Before opening the doors, I looked over my shoulder to where Melissa and Rose were walking."I'm sorry, Rose. But this has to be taken care of before it gets out of hand,"I whispered to myself. Someday, you'll get the answers you deserve.I sighed and pushed open the doors to see the guards dragging Cassidy out of the building."Guards!"I yelled, running over to them."I'd like
Eugene's POVI watched Rose's sleeping figure as we landed. She looked so peaceful. I felt bad waking her up. I walked over to her seat and crouched down until I was level with her face. I studied her for a bit longer, admiring how innocent she looked. I didn't know how long I stared at her, but the pilot came to inform me that everything was loaded into the limo. I nodded and sighed. Time to wake the monster.I stroked my hands through Rose's hair. This seemed to wake her up as she groaned and looked at me once her eyes opened.I smiled, still combing through her hair."Hello, darling. We landed a couple of minutes ago. Everything has been loaded into the limo, but I felt bad about waking you up earlier."
