Faith sat before her mother in their house at exactly 4:30pm. She faced her mother and exchanged pleasantries with her. "Where is Amirah?" she asked when she noticed she had not heard the voice of the girl. 

They had just arrived from work the evening of the following day and her boss sat on a sofa with his briefcase beside him, too tired to get a change of clothes.  "I'll be going to my quarter now," Faith said and her boss nodded his reply. She had just opened the door when he saw a woman coming in the compound and Faith recognized her to be the one at the grocery store.  

Faith could not stop crying. What had just happened? She did not even know what to think anymore? Had she just been fired or did he really need some time as he had said? She sat on her bed in her quarter without knowing what to do. She knew there was something going on with Desmond, but what was that? Why did he push her away? Why did he change all of a sudden? And his eyes? All she could see there was pain and despair

"What?" Faith exclaimed. What had she done? She had just make a terrible mistake. How could she have been so careless? She had thought that he was still fast asleep. 

Her face fell. He just made everything clear and she must admit that hearing it from his mouth hurt like hell. She knew she had no space in his heart, why did he feel the need to remind her of that? She felt like covering herself up with the bed sheet and crying to her heart's content, but she could not. No matter how much he was going to decline talking to her, she would not give up. She owed him that little explanation. Even if he eventually fired her, she did not want to be reminded as a bad person. Desmond removed his hands from his pockets and attempted to leave the room.
