"Mom, you're shaking. Why are you shaking? Is it because you're disappointed in me for not dismissing the rumours immediately? I'm sorry." Tears started to form in Delilah's eyes. "Promise me that you would not freak out. I am here for you, all the time. I am your mom, Delilah. Nobody can love you more than me." Natalia said slowly, still in her initial position.Delilah stood up. "You're lying. It's either you're lying, or you're keeping something from me. She did not want to face her mom, or who she had always thought her mom was, rather, as she made her way to her room. She gave a thousand prayers as she turned the key and lifted the door slightly while pushing it, so that it wouldn't make any sounds and alert her mother of her presence.Delilah collapsed on her bed and closed her eyes. She had had an eventful night. Dennis's party was, as usual, extraordinary. She had hoped that in Dennis's room, no one would disturb her, but in only an hour into the party, she had chased three different couples looking for a room to do their dirty deeds, and even had to lock the door. Some still came knocking after that. With the party going on, and the loud music, Delilah was unable to gather her thoughts and so she was very angry through out the night.Dennis checked up on her regularly, but that didn't make her feel any better. She couldn't have gone that far, or anything."Natalia nodded and they both went out of the car. They met Violet at the door, and just as they came, the door swung open. "Good afternoon Mr and Mrs D'Ricci." Dennis greeted, looking confused. "What brings you here?" "You're my daughter's boyfriend, Dennis?" Natalia asked. Dennis turned to look at Violet who nodded at him. "Y-yes ma'am." He replied. "Well, is my daughter in there? Please let me know, I'm not doing anything to her, or to you. All these things would not have happened if she had turned back when her mind told her to. In fact, maybe if she had stopped to listen to her mother, then she would not have been in this terrible situation. She should have allowed her mother to explain what happened, in her fair sense of justice. It was her mother that was there, and not the reporters after all. She shouldn't have concluded something based on the internet. Not when she knew that things like the moon landing was a lie.Or if she didn't run away after her mother had seen her when they went to her tree house.Delilah hoped that she would somehow be found. But how?Her mother had seen her run off, so maybe they would have thought that she was okay, and was only asking for a littl

Chapter Forty Six.
Chapter Forty Six. Natalia was in the kitchen making herself some coffee. Piero was still asleep. Not that she blamed him, of course. The man deserved to get some sleep, but she was unable to. Even when she finally managed to fall asleep, she was plagued by dreams of her baby screaming while being taken away. She had happened to wake Piero up due to her screams and excessive sobbing. So when Piero fell asleep again, Natalia tiptoed out of the room. She had to get Delilah back, and something was telling her that her daughter was still in that awful land. The police didn't seem to be doing anything based on her disappearance. Natalia thought. And that was only putting it lightly! She was sure that they didn't do anything but scan the treehouse area and check for finger prints. Natalia was no fool. She knew what most of the men at the force were like. Piero was on the verge of losing his mind, but his was a quiet kind. Natalia felt like she had already lost her mind. That was when

Chapter Forty Seven.
Chapter Forty Seven. "What are you doing here?" Delilah rolled her eyes at the demon in front of her. "That's very polite of you. I'm happy to see you too." Eriel said and sat on the floor on the outside of the cell. "I never said that I was happy to see you, Eriel. I want to be left alone." Delilah said. "For a slave who might end up as food, you have a lot of spunk." Eriel said casually. "Or maybe I've come to terms with everything and I just want to spend the little time I have left with my thoughts. Soothing myself. Did you think of that, master?"Eriel nodded. "Yes, I did. She has a big mouth." He said, gesturing to the slaves at the back. "Do you all see that she has a big mouth?" The slaves cheered out of fear of being punished. Delilah rolled her eyes. "Do you plan to answer my question?" Delilah propped her head up on her palms in her sitting position. "Which?" "I asked you if you knew when I was getting killed." "You don't know for sure that you're go

Chapter Forty Eight. Delilah was singing a song that she used to sing with her mother when Oriel got to the cell. As usual, she did not acknowledge him, so he let himself into the cell, and dragged Delilah up. “What is going on? Am I going to die without saying goodbye to my mom?” Delilah asked with a small frown on her face. She had always felt that she would go like this, but she wasn’t mentally prepared for it. “Let’s go.” Oriel didn’t bother to offer an explanation. “You’re scaring me.” Delilah said; sounding firm, not at all scared. “I just want to take you outside and see what all the others are missing out on while you bitch and moan to yourself every time.” Oriel said and Delilah scrunched her nose. “I say that to myself. Even the cell mates can’t hear me. Are you sure that you’re not actually a vampire?” Delilah asked. “Vampires are the junior versions of our kind.” Oriel sighed. “Oh, lite versions then.” Delilah said. Oriel scanned the room to look at th

Chapter Forty Nine.
Chapter Forty Nine.Delilah made her way up the stairs with a sigh as she wondered how she was lucky enough to be granted access to the library. Did she want to be friends with demons and move around them? No. She definitely did not. But she had no where to go. She couldn’t escape, and she couldn’t sneak her way out of it. The best thing to do as it was was to indulge herself in doing what she did best.Books. School work. She didn’t want to watch the television that they placed in her room. She thought that she could get more information about the demons from there, and maybe how to even kill them. “Where are you going?” Someone asked her. The person was descending the stares.Delilah recognised the woman as another demon. “I am going to the library.”Delilah continued to walk up the stairs. “You stop walking when I’m talking to you.” The demon said. “You only asked a question which I answered, and as far as I’m concerned, you have no control over my movements.” Delilah sai

This was all Delilah’s fault. If only she had not run away and put more attention on herself as usual. She thought.Violet was so shaken up. She thought that she was definitely going to be locked up, and she could not imagine explaining to her parents that she tried to snatch another girl’s boyfriend, and do bad things to her so that she would appear in a better light. Or that she had been the one to start the fiery rumours moving around the school about her friend, and that the friend happened to be Delilah D’ Ricci. Her parents would kill her.Okay, scratch that. Violet knew that her parents would kill her if she ever mentioned everything about stealing someone’s boyfriend. Her father could not stand looking at her with a
