THE REAL DEFINITION OF AWKWARDNESS
“What the - “ Simon paused immediately he saw that it was Diana, the different colored disco light hovering over her face. She was surprised but the soberness didn’t leave her face. Why was he here? Why was he in the dance floor? Simon had never came to the dance floor ever since he started visiting the nightclub. “Diana, I....are you okay?” Simon stuttered, glancing from her eyes, down to her body. A concerned look on his face; he wasn’t sure how he was going to tell her what he actually wanted to do. Sitting there on the stool and reminiscing on what Julia had told him, he had lost his patience and wanted fo run all the way to Mr. Fisher’s office without a second thought, it was a good thing they bumped into each other. Who knows what would have happened, if he had burst down Fisher’s door. “Yes, I am. Are you dancing?” Diana made the question seem like a joke. She wanted to clear the thoughts in her head and the soberness on her face. Even though she suspected something she didn

DEJA VU
Simon held her gaze, raising his eye brows. She had a serious look on her face, it seems she already knew, like she just needed confirmation or she was trying to buy time for herself. He sighed and took a sip at his Negroni, pressing his lips together as the liquid burned down his throat. A quick glance at Julia, she wasn’t looking at them this time, but Simon was sure that she was eaves dropping. There was no way they’d speak for her not to hear, only if she’s busy with a customer or not paying attention. “I was worried.” Simon said the words, looking straight into the opposite blue eyes in front of him. He didn’t want to go into details all at once. This time, Diana’s confused look wasn’t fake, it was genuine, even though she had the hunch of what he was getting at. “Worried of what?” She asked, gesturing with her hands. Her eyes holding Simon’s gaze. “I was worried because of you, I don’t want to lie to you Diana, it was taking too long, so I thought something bad had happene

JUST ONE MORE CHANCE
Diana didn’t know why tears was gathering in her eyes, nevertheless she fought back and tried to keep it from falling down her cheekbones. She could feel Simon’s palm wrapped around her wrists. She had misunderstood him and quickly judged wrongly, getting angry at him without even thinking it through properly. What she wanted now, was to be alone; she imagined how Julia was looking at her that moment. She hadn’t done anything to hurt Julia, Diana was still wondering what she had told Simon that pushed him to the wall, that he even wanted to risk his life for her again. As badly as she wanted to know, she knew it’d just add to her pain, she was better off without it. “Diana please, don’t walk out on me, I -“ Simon hesitated, sighing frustratingly without letting go of Diana’s wrist. He didn’t want to say the wrong word, if he let her go this way, there was no doubt; he wouldn’t stop thinking about it, and he wouldn’t definitely be able to forgive himself. This was what Julia wanted

COFFEE AND KISSES
Nick sighed, the ache in his heart aggravated when he saw the tears; why was he always in difficult situations. Why? He wanted to go over to her and wipe the tear that had strolled down her right eye but he didn’t. He couldn’t. He opened the door wider, giving an impression that he was allowing her to come in without saying a word. Julia swallowed the lump in her throat and wiped the tear with her thumb, she walked inside Nick’s apartment, the warm smell of coffee was the first thing that greeted her. She stopped in the small hallway, waiting for Nick to close the door so she could walk behind him. It had been so long since she came into a man’s house, doing her escort job, she never goes over to her client’s place because of safety reasons. Nick closed the door and walked past Julia, holding the cup of coffee in his hands, it was getting cold and he had only taken one sip. That was before he opened the door, now he didn’t even feel like drinking it anymore. Julia followed him in

NICK’S PRIORITY
The officer hesitated before speaking, looking directly into Nick’s eyes. “There has been another assassination in town, this morning,” Nick ran his hand through his black hair, he had forgotten all about that other case, because of Gonzalez’s case. Now that assassin was at it again, and from the little intel he had gathered. That particular assassin only operated once a week. Somehow, he felt the death of the person the assassin had killed was his fault, if only Angelina hadn’t been shot, she could have been handling it. He was starting to see the usefulness of a partner, all his life he worked alone; breaking cases and turning in culprits all by himself. Who would have thought that all these would happen, things that were so complicated that he needed a partner, and Nathe had showed him just how helpful a partner was. Remembering Nathe, he rushed into the house and grabbed his shirt from the couch. The assassin that killed Nathe’s wife, was the one running around in Ohio; he kne

MIXED UP EMOTIONS
“I guess you don’t remember much, he had to carry you while you were bleeding all the way here, although I’ve no idea how he did it myself. He’s a strong man I must say,” Nick explained, looking into Angelina’s surprised eyes. He hadn’t given that a thought yet, how Nathe carried her all the way here, but it wasn’t necessary anymore. He would have waved down a taxi or something. “I must thank him, has he been informed that I’m awake?” Angelina said, adjusting herself on the bed, her wounds still hurt, and her head was aching a little bit. She had lost a great deal of blood. It’d be awhile before she was discharged. Nick stood back and brushed his hair, he never knew Angelina would ask about Nathe. He should probably had called him then. “I didn’t think it was necessary. Look, Nathe is just a normal civilian, he has no relation with us,” Nick tried to convince Angelina to forget about Nathe, but his words made his heart twitch. What he just said, he didn’t believe it himself. “But

RECONCILIATION AND REPETITION
“I’ll be right back, Angelina. I’m happy to see you’re okay,” Simon said, his eyes still fixated on the woman he was staring at outside the window. He turned quickly and rushed out of the room. Angelina just stared at him in surprise, without responding. Simon walked slowly towards the receptionist counter, Diana hadn’t seen him. He wondered what she was doing in the hospital, was she sick or hurt? “Hey, Diana,” Simon called, tapping her lightly on her shoulders. He couldn’t get off the concerned look from his face. Diana shrugged, she knew who it was, and she couldn’t help but wonder what he was also doing in the hospital. She still needed time off men, she hadn’t forgiven herself for getting angry at innocent Simon. “What are you doing here, Simon?” She asked, without turning over to look at him, the receptionist was focused on the computer in front of her. “I could ask you the same thing,” Simon replied, walking over to the counter, so he could see her face. “I had a migraine

MIDNIGHT CHASE
Nick quickly ignited his vehicle, and followed the black car with his truck, raising it to a considerable speed at once. His old truck might not keep up with that small car’s speed but he wasn’t going to give up before he tried. This wasn’t the usual assassin, from all what he had gathered about the assassin; the victims were murdered right were they were without any abduction, and it was weekly. Which means, there wasn’t supposed to be any assassinations till next week. Could Gonzalez be back again? Nick thought, Interpol was still trailing the motherfucker. Nathe was right, he used a fake identity to flee from the country. There was no way he could be back in Ohio without him not getting nabbed by Interpol. Then who could this be? Nick had no idea, there was only one person who’d have an idea, but he wasn’t ready to use Nathe now. This was his chance to prove himself to Diana, if he called Nathe and they saved her, Nathe would probably take all the glory since he was a police man

MIDNIGHT CHASE II
There was no way he’s back, even though Simon wasn’t sure, he didn’t want to believe it. His truck couldn’t go more than a hundred and eighty kilometers per hour, it was old. Nevertheless, he kept pushing the accelerator as if forcing it to go faster. Diana couldn’t struggle, the man holding her was too strong for her to even try; he was covering her mouth tightly with his very large and rough palm. His body odor was so awful, that Diana was almost choking. There was no need to struggle because she could feel the cold metal tip of a pistol on the side of her head, all she could do now was pray. From their conversations earlier, someone was chasing after them, no one else came straight to her mind except him; Simon. The man that had suddenly become her superman, he might have been around that area when she was kidnapped and followed them. MIDNIGHT CHASE III
Simon felt a thud on his chest when he saw the blood dripping from the side of Diana’s forehead, he wasn’t expecting the car to turn upside down, what he did, was to make the vehicle stop before it hit him. Her blue eyes had dark shades in it, and it was clear that tears had already gathered in them. Just standing there, pointing the pistol at the man behind her, he could feel adrenaline rushing through every part of his body, he had feelings for this woman, and there was no denying it anymore. Diana held back the tears that was struggling to find it way down her cheekbones, she didn’t want to cry, not now that her savior had shown up. He was always there, at the right time, always willing to put his life on the line for hers. She could feel her heartbeat thumping abnormally, and she knew it wasn’t because of the .45 caliber that was pointed to her head, it was because of this blue eyed blonde standing in front of her. “I need this woman lads, stay away from me; or I’ll be forced t
