He stared down at her for a while, watching as the frowned with a deep crease between her brows."October! October, it's okay, it's okay." Alistair said, untangling her from the sheets. Her eyes sprung open, then she pulled at her clothes, feeling hot and sticky. She was drenched in sweat and breathing hard."He killed-" she sobbed, not finishing what she had to say.''It was only a dream," Alistair said softly."But... but it seemed so real, they were camping and then he... all of them are dead." October shook her head, pulling away from him. "It was real. That vampire killed them. Maybe you just don't care because we all are humans." She added."You humans or not, what you saw wasn't real.""I know what I saw in my dreams, and they never lied to me before.

"Who are they?" October tried to whisper, but it seemed as if everyone had heard her."Most of them are the vampire council, well, the new vampire council." Alistair said. His voice held something that October couldn't quite put her finger on."Vampires have councils, and what do you mean new?'' She questioned.Alistair practically snarled at her. "Just stop asking questions! You are nothing but a dumb human and won't understand, even if I break it down for you in baby talk."October frown her brows, not understanding the reason behind his sudden hostility.'Maybe I was from last night?' She questioned herself."That guy in the back is staring at me.'' October felt uncomfortable under his gaze, plus the cockily smirk he wore, set her nerves on end."Because he can. She could still see the way they were looking at her, the hunger in their eyes.Out of anger, she hit her fist against the wall. He hated her, but she could feel herself falling in love with him. Which was odd because of how he was treating her.Tears formed in October's eyes as a knot of homesickness twisted in her stomach. She let the tears flow at that, thinking about her life back home, wondering if anyone was looking for her.Wondering if Daniel cared that she was gone? Or how her friends felt, especially Gem, and what of her family? Did they give up on searching for her? Or maybe they are distracted, still searching?"Do any of them miss me?" October asked herself before letting her head hung, as sobs rocked her body. She missed the way Victoria used to tease her, o

After crying and pacing the room, talking to herself. October ripped the dress from her body before changing into something more comfortable. (The pair of jeans, pink blouse and black sneakers that were left out for her.) Again, it shocked her to see how well they knew her size."I need to leave," October said, then groaned because she knew that there was no way out.She sighed, then walked over to the balcony to look up at the sky, noticing that the Sun was high, which meant that it was midday."Why can't my life just be normal? Better yet, why didn't I just died that day? It would have been so much easier.'' After getting bored with standing on the balcony and just staring out, October turned away to her room, where she took up the map and stared at it. "Well, at least I can roam the place." October said to herself. Pushing the piece of paper into her back pocket, then went out of her room and down the stairs, where she found a door that led outside.October looked behind her befo

After trying the door handle several times, October realized that Alistair had really locked her in the room."Please let me out," October plead, doubting anyone could hear her.She banged on the door several times. "You said I could go anywhere, so why lock me in here? I don't even see the point of that stupid garden. Roses for Rose are just dumb."October sighed."Please let me out," October said again, before leaning her head on the door.Soon she gave up on her pleas, because she knew that the cruel vampire wouldn't take pity on her. And she was sure that if she kept up with the begging, then Alistair would appear to hurt her."Just want to go home." October held in head in her hands, fighting off tears. "If not, at least allow me more freedom. Without anyone always following me around."Just then, October looked over to the balcony when she felt a warm breeze blowing in. It was still open.A thought came to her mind, so she quickly hurried over to it. Then looked down to see how

"October, wake up, you need to wake up," a voice mumbled. "Remember, you have to make your escape.""Who are you?" October asked. She tried to see the face of the female who was speaking to her but she whatever reason, she was hiding her face."Someone who needs to leave as well. Please, go through the gate and leave it open for us.""Us?" October questioned."Me, leave the gate open for me so I can leave."In her sleep, October was laughing, which started the servant, who was placing food on the table beside her bed."Do you think I'm an idiot? I won't leave any gates open for you, and I suggest that you leave my mind. I can tell that you are no good.""He will kill you.""Don’t worry about me. I will get out of here myself. I don't need you. Now leave." October waved her hand, which in turn caused the hand of her physical form to move as well. When October woke up, she had a throbbing headache and found the sunlight to be too bright. "I don't need to impose my King, but shouldn't your bride be a part of our meetings?" A feminine voice asked.Alistair looked over at the woman, who spoke. She was wearing too much make-up, and he vaguely remembered her talking to October."She doesn't fully understand our world. In fact, she is in the library right now reading about our history." Alistair told her.The lady cocked her head to the side. "Right, but I must ask. Is she smart enough to comprehend any she reads? And why leave a human unattended? What if something should happen to her?"Alistair narrowed his eyes at her. “What are you employing, Gertrude?"Gertrude shrugged at him. "I don't know. She is human."Alistair looked at her. “Well, nothing will ever happen to her. She is under my protection and twenty-four-hour watch."Gertrude gave him a smile. "That's what you said the last time. You bride, what was her name again?"Alistair hissed and got to his feet. “Don't even go there! What happened was an accident."Gertr

"A Lore-being age just like normal humans until they reach eighteen, they become immortal at this age. But even so, they can still be killed. When they are fully immortals, they are also more aware of themselves, their powers, and their mate if he or she is already born and is of age as well."October nodded. "But what about the dying part? How can they die then come back? Because clearly these two girls are alive.""Oh that, an immortal can die, but only when killed in a specific way. They are reborn, and can be reborn many times, unless a blood ritual is done to prevent. Until they become of age, they won't have any memory."October looked up at Kristolf. She noticed a crazed look in his eyes, but brushed it off because she saw the same look in Alistair's eyes most of the time."Are they born to the same parents, or in the same family? How long would rebirth take?"Onyx moved his head from side to side. “Yes and no, it takes an immortal a long time to age, so they tend to have a lot
