It didn’t take me long to notice the shift in the atmosphere when they entered the clearing. Wherever they went, the rank of bleakness, treachery, and old cheese fallowed them. There were only three titles on the Fox Council. These foxes earned their position through trickery, murder, and deceit. They were the best of the worst.I knew they would come, but I didn’t expect it so soon. Right when I was getting a good sleep too.I thought I hated them before, now I was down right livid.I had slipped into jeans and a tank top, my scars clearly visible. A reminder to the Foxes of what they had put me through, and what I was capable of.I lounged on top of the railing on Cassar’s balcony. One leg stretched on the thin bar, while the other draped off the side. Waiting for the perfect time to make my presence known. All I could do was hope that Cassar wouldn’t do something stupid. Begging him telepathically not to attack. Apparently I was better then I thought because every time something go

My father jumped at Minos’ anger. Eyes wide with fear. He took another step forward. He spoke slowly, begging me to listen. “Vienna please. They are threatening our family. If you don’t come they will punish one of us for your crimes.”“And I care because?” I waved away. I would way rather him die then me. Everyone knew that.My father looked at me heartbroken. Tears threatened to spill from his eyes. A look I had never seen from him. As if I was his last chance. He spoke slowly, desperate. “Please, they have Reykjavik.”I stopped moving.Reykjavik, my only living sibling I cared about. My baby brother who I had sworn to protect. My partner in crime while we raced around Europe in a Corvette. Not just my family, but my friend. And they were trying to threaten his life. They should have known better.I made eye contact with him longer then I had in my entire life. I brought my hand to my head, to message my temples. Trying to calm the migraine that was setting in called my father.“Wow

I was pissed. Unbelievably pissed.Wolves stared at me. None of them willing to look me in the eyes. Either because I was the Silver Fox or because I was craving blood. Probably both.“Vienna.” A deep voice called my name. “Where did they go?”I shrugged. “I don’t know.”“Why could we not attack?”“Because they would have killed you.” I told him honestly.“How did they disappear?”“No clue.”“Was it all an illusion?”“I can’t see how, but I have no idea.”“Are they gone for good?”“Doesn’t matter, they’ll be back.”“What do you know?”I stopped moving, turning to face Cassar, my eyes glowed a bright silver. “All I know is that they are capable of anything. They use an old dark power that no mortal should have heard about, and they just put a target on the Viribus Pack.”Cassar’s eyes were black with rage, his body shaking. It would not be easy to see creatures come and go on his territory, and he couldn’t even do anything about it.I tuned around heading towards the North. To the one

“Can you just be mad?” I glared at him, nothing making sense. “I am the Silver Fox. The Queen of Tricks. You are supposed to hate me. I am the type of creature you kill at first sight. I stand for everything you hate.”“I don’t hate you.”“Why not? How are you not mad about all the things I’ve done?”“Vienna, you are my mate.” He spoke slowly so I could understand. “You are my gift from the moon goddess. Nothing changes that.”“Maybe it’s true. I did trick you into thinking I’m your mate.”Cassar shook his head knowingly. “Not the way you’ve been fighting the mating bond.”“Maybe that’s the plan. Reverse psychology.” I shrugged a shoulder. “Makes you want me more.”Cassar shook his head, the annoying wolfish grin still on face. “Not possible, babe.”“Don’t call me babe.” I hissed under my breath, annoyed at the stupid but almost smart alpha that was standing so close. He even had the guts to deepen his smirk. “If you really wanted protection, or money, or whatever foxes want, you woul

He reached for my arm but I pulled it away from his grasp before we could touch.I didn’t bother turning around to face him, I just kept walking. “Those foxes found me. It’s only a matter of time before they come again. I don’t plan on being around for that.”I had to get away. Not just from the foxes, but from him.I was in too deep, and I was just now learning that I didn’t know how to swim.Cassar shouted at me, trying to pull me back.I avoided his touch and jumped away from him. I don’t know what would happen if I felt that heat one more time. With those final words I shifted. Now that he knew I was the Silver Fox, I didn’t hide her. Any of her.Silver and white fur sprouted from skin. My bones snapping into a new form. Claws and canines sharpening. Most foxes’ fur changed colour depending on the season, but I never let my own.I wanted creatures to know who I was. I wanted them to know who was coming for them. Hence the nickname, Silver Fox.So when I shifted, I proved that what

A weak smile spread across my cracked lips at the realization. I no longer had dark spots lining my vision. Vile wasn’t rising from my throat. My body didn’t feel like it was being pulled back to a certain asshole alpha.I had broken the blood-tie. It must have snapped during the crash. It’s only unfortunate that I crashed the car before I could get even further.I would have done a maniacal laugh if my rib cage wasn’t in my throat. The forest was now deadly calm. Any animals around would have already run for the hills from the Ferrari loosing control.I shuddered at the scene in front of me. Fallen trees littered the ground. The fast car had been pulverized into nothing. Pieces of the vehicle flown about the crash site. Glass littered the forest floor.I had to get out of here before Cassar killed me just for hurting his trees.I struggled to sit up. My muscles screamed at me to stay where I was. I spit out some blood that pooled in my mouth.I almost vomited at the sight of myself.

Teddy was bigger and younger then her, but he was still new. They were both trained fighters, but Teddy was not as experienced. His movements weren’t sure. His attacks were not powerful enough. The older wolf used that to her advantage.I lunged my broken body forward, reaching for a piece of metal. It was jagged, thin and long. I didn’t know what part of the car it came from, but it would do.It was the only source of weapon I could find on such short notice. I cursed myself for not grabbing my gun earlier. I never learned.I almost cried in pain as I rolled to my hurt shoulder. Freeing my good arm, I took aim.The female pushed Teddy off of her. She scratched at his underbelly. Fur flew all over the place as they wrestled.“Teddy, down.” I screamed at him.In one fluid motion he dropped to the ground. The female was shocked as I sent the metal flying towards her rib cage. This time, it didn’t go through the target. The piece of metal lodged itself between two of her ribs. She howled

The female was just trying to protect her pack. She saw me as the enemy and she had the guts to do something about it. I could respect that. Even if she was all wrong about it.He didn’t say anything, an angry scowl lined his face. His eyes glazing over. Mind linking the rest of the pack.I only sat there for a moment before my brain started working again. “You’re naked.”I attempted pushing myself away from his grasp. “I’m wearing pants.”“Well do you own a shirt?”His one hand held onto my wrists, not letting me get very far. Cassar’s eyes grew twice the size as he saw all of my blood.“Where is the pack doctor?” He barked.I rolled my eyes at him, wiggling out of his grip. “I’m fine.”“No. You’re not.” He growled, running his arms along my own. Checking all of my injuries.“Yes. I am.” I told him slapping his hands away.I rolled on my ankles falling on my butt. I did my best to hide the pain.“You have to stop this.” He growled shaking his head, assessing how bad my injuries were.

In no time Cassar entered the pack village.Wolves lived throughout the whole territory, but the majority of the wolf families lived in the small town. Every pack had one, though Viribus’s town was bigger than others. The village looked like a normal cluster of homes. Though it was designed to give wolves privacy away from prying human eyes.If any wolf needed something they would have to travel to the closest human town for food, schooling, and more. Though every pack had a doctor who specialized in shifters.Cassar neared an old house in the pack village, not far from the pack house. It was well taken care of with white siding and blue shutters. The front door swung open, the wolves inside waiting for our arrival.A male with grey curly hair rushed forward.Cassar knelt down so the doctor could carefully pull me off of his back. His hands were solid, yet gentle. He smelt like disinfectant and evergreen. Signs of a true wolf doctor. The doctor held me up as we walked towards the pack

Days had passed and Cassar had refused to let me out of his sight. Apparently I was hazardous to and by myself. Jokes on him, I was hazardous either way.But that just meant days of staying in bed with an overprotective alpha threatening anyone who dared get close. He was more beast then man at this point.Apparently it was normal for wolves in these types of circumstances. Their instincts went way out of wack for the need to protect.I just found it annoying. The only creatures brave enough to face him was Harlen and the doctor. Aiden tried but Cassar almost bit his head off when I said I would love for Aiden to warm my bed with me.Cassar said I wasn’t as funny as I thought. It didn’t matter too much though considering the amount of drugs the doctor had me on. I could only stay awake for an hour at a time and even that was a sketchy hour. The doctor had done some serious damage, or he had fixed some serious damage according to Cassar.Either way I was out of it.Slowly I raised my a
