Chapter 1

Midnight, Azure Villa,

"This evening, breaking news as it has been confirmed that Tech Tycoon, Alaric Pritzker, has tied the knot with Evelyn Rockefeller, daughter of Real Estate Mogul, Christian Rockefeller, in a surprise wedding ceremony held yesterday in a secluded location.

Sources close to the couple reveal that the wedding was a low-key affair attended by a handful of close family and friends, with the billionaire entrepreneur opting for a casual look wearing a simple black suit while the bride wore a beautiful white dress.

It's reported that the diamond wedding ring of Mrs. Pritzker is estimated to be worth over $50,000.

The couple has not yet commented on their wedding, but fans and followers are offering their congratulations and well wishes on social media.

This wedding between two of the most prominent families in the tech and real estate industries has certainly caught the attention of the Starfall City, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for this power couple."

Evelyn switched the TV off with a heavy sigh.

Evelyn stood nervously in front of the wardrobe, her eyes wandering over the garments. Her gaze settled on the exquisite piece of black lingerie that she had bought for this special occasion. She hesitated for a moment before having the courage to reach out and grab the silky fabric. As she undressed, Evelyn felt a mix of excitement and fear.

She took her time, slipping into the black lingerie and admiring herself in the mirror. The way the lace hugged her curves made her feel sexy and confident. Despite the fact that her marriage to her husband was forced upon him, she still hoped that tonight, her wedding night would be the night they could find some common ground.

Evelyn stood in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection. She had worked hard to dress herself up, all in the hopes of finally capturing her husband's attention. But as she heard her husband, Alaric's footsteps approaching their room, her heart began to sink. She knew that he wouldn't even spare her a glance.

Alaric entered the bedroom, barely sparing her a glance as he walked to his side of the bed, throwing his suit jacket on the chair. Soon, he got busy on his phone.

Evelyn's heart sank even more. As she tried to hide her disappointment.

Alaric Pritzker, the CEO of TitanTech, the strongest tech company in the Starfall city.

In terms of appearance, Alaric is tall and well-built, with broad shoulders and a chiseled jawline. His hair is perfectly styled, and his piercing blue eyes sparkle with dominance. He has a straight nose, full lips, and a symmetrical face that could belong on a magazine cover. His skin is flawless, with just a hint of stubble adding to his rugged masculinity. His charm and charisma draw people towards him, and he carries himself with poise and grace. He exudes a quiet strength and a magnetic presence that makes heads turn wherever he goes. His impeccable fashion sense only enhances his already striking looks, and he carries himself with a sense of effortless elegance that makes him irresistible to anyone who catches his eye.

The shy, gentle Evelyn Rockefeller had hopelessly fallen for this man the moment she laid her eyes on him.

A few moments passed, Alaric finally looked up from his phone and took in Evelyn's current appearance. For a moment, his mask of indifference was broken. He asked in a cold voice, "What the hell are you wearing?"

Evelyn's voice trembled as she answered, "I thought this dress would look nice..."

He interrupted her, "Well, you thought wrong. Change into something more appropriate."

Evelyn's eyes filled with tears as Alaric ignored her completely. Her heart hurt with so much pain, as she knew that Alaric never loved her and the marriage had been strictly an arrangement made by their parents.

Determined not to give up, Evelyn went to the closet and changed into a more conservative dress.

After she was done changing, she said in a soft voice, "Is this better?"

Alaric glanced at her, "It will do." He added, "And next time, don't dress up like a slut. I will not look at you no matter what. I already made it clear before the wedding."

Evelyn felt like her heart was breaking into a million pieces. She had been trying so hard to please him, but it was all in vain. She knew she needed to try harder.

________

The next day,

In Alaric's study room,

As Alaric was sorting out some important documents, Evelyn walked in, "Alaric, I made you your favorite coffee. Shall I bring it to you?"

Alaric didn't even look up from his laptop, "I don't have time for that."

Evelyn persisted, "Please Alaric, it won't take long. I thought it might help you relax."

Alaric's anger boiled over, "I said no, Evelyn! How many times do I have to tell you that I don't need or want your help? Just go away!"

"S..sorry." Evelyn quickly left the room, tears streaming down her face.

Days turned into weeks, and Evelyn kept trying to gain Alaric's affection, but it was all in vain.

________

One evening,

Evelyn walked into Alaric's bedroom, and Alaric was sitting on the bed, looking at something in his hand. As she approached him, she saw that he was holding a photograph of a beautiful woman.

The woman has long, flowing brunette hair that cascaded down her back in loose curls. Her almond-shaped green eyes were framed by thick, dark eyelashes that add a touch of glamor to her already stunning features. Her high cheekbones gave her face a sculpted look, and her full, pouty lips were the perfect shade of pink. Her slender frame is toned and athletic, with long, toned legs that seemed to go on forever. Her skin was flawless, a smooth and radiant complexion that seemed to glow from within.

Unlike Evelyn, the beautiful woman looked like someone who carried herself with confidence and poise, moving with an effortless grace that captured all eyes towards her.

"Alaric, who is she?" Evelyn asked, unable to hide her curiosity.

Alaric's face hardened, "That's none of your business."

Unintentionally, Evelyn kept persisting, "She looks familiar. Isn't she Dianna East, the top model of the country who left the city all of a sudden?"

Alaric groaned and finally answered, "She's my ex-girlfriend. The one I was supposed to marry until my parents forced me into this loveless marriage."

Evelyn's heart sank further than she thought was possible. She finally understood why Alaric and she slept in different rooms.

That day, she finally realized that deep down, Alaric would never forgive her for taking away the woman he really loved.

Days turned into months, and Evelyn still had tried everything in her power to gain his attention and affection, but nothing worked.
