Elena’s pov

"Damn right! Thank goodness Vanessa reminded us," Miranda chimed in quickly.

She turned to me with that bossy tone of hers and ordered, "Elena, go with Jack and settle tonight's bill now."

"Thirteen million for drinks?" I shot back, sarcasm dripping from my voice.

"How could it be thirteen million?" Mrs. Miranda frowned, clearly annoyed. "I mean, all the expenses for tonight. You’re footing the bill. And after that, you're heading to the car dealership with Jack to buy back the two cars Hector sold."

"But, come on, that's not fair," Jack hesitated. "Elena shouldn’t have to cover these costs, especially since she’s not the Luna anymore."

Miranda didn’t see anything wrong with her demands.

"What's unfair about it?" she scoffed. "The Blue Mountain Pack is history, her parents are gone, and from now on, she's got only Hector to rely on. She should pony up, right?"

"But..."

"Jack, do you not know your place? Is it your turn to speak?" Miranda shut him down.
