Elena’s pov

After Tina left, Hector walked in.

The dim light played tricks on his face as he stood there, hesitating, staring right at me.

"Aren’t you here to talk? Go ahead," I snapped, my voice laced with impatience.

Hector frowned and took a few steps toward me, as if to reach out.

I instinctively backed away, putting distance between us as if he were toxic.

"Just talk from there," I said, fighting back a wave of nausea.

Hector seemed oblivious to my rejection.

Instead, he asked in a condescending tone, like teasing a pet, "Are you still angry?"

I shot him a sharp glare, my anger flaring up. "Angry? Why would I be angry? Or should I ask, what reason do I have to be angry? Am I angry because you accused me of adultery to crown Vanessa as Luna? Or because you made me handle everything—the banquet, your wedding, and your mistress’s succession ceremony?"

Hector’s casual demeanor vanished at my words.

A hint of regret flickered in his eyes, but he quickly composed himself.
