CHAPTER FOUR

“CAN YOU pass me the new chemicals that arrived today?” Dwayne asked Waverly because his hands are already full of his new tools.

Today is a very busy day for them because they'll be testing their new cryptography that Waverly made yesterday.

“There you go.” Waverly said as she helped Dwayne with his things.

“What are we going to do after the testing, Alaia?” Reysell asked curiously.

“I don't actually know, since the testing might take a lot of our time. If we still have at least four to five hours, then, I guess, we should start working with the woman's grief. What do you guys think?”

Dwayne pouted. “We can do that, but it will take time too.” he said and heaved a sigh.

“How about inventory?” Reysell injected.

The three of them exchanged glances before nodding and laughing. Truth to be told, testing is already tiring. They feel it would be better not to exhaust themselves.

Fifteen minutes later when they started working, Wave, who wore a tailored red suit, a clean black shirt tucked inside, partnered red trousers, and black shoes entered their laboratory with pizzas in his hands.

Waverly froze and stare at the newcomer with wide eyes. “Hermano?”, big brother, “Wha- what are you doing here?”

“Well, I miss my hermanita,” little sister, Wave walked towards her and kissed her forehead, “Can I crash here for the mean time?”

Waverly made a face. “You can visit us anytime. You don't need permission, hermano.”

Hearing his little sister's replied. Wave couldn't help but to chuckle. Waverly really grew up as a fine woman that she should be. He thought.

As Wave went to Waverly's room in her office, the three of them continued to work as they eat the pizzas that Wave brought.

Reysell is so focused assembling their computers and monitors, so he can easily see everything in one big frame.

On the other part of the laboratory, Dwayne was busy contacting some women who already used their chemical: A man's grief.

While, Waverly is readying her cryptography to be test in just a few more minutes. If the test will be successful, they can rest for the next two weeks.

“Are you guys ready?” Reysell shouted from a distance.

“Give me five more minutes!”

Waverly just shook her head as she heard the two shouting at each other again as if they are very far from each other when the truth is, they are only facing each other's back.

Without minding the two, Waverly immediately set her files and displayed her new cryptography in the monitor.

She saw the smirk of Reysell when he noticed what she did.

“Damn, girl. You just made a mad badass code.” he said with his twinkling eyes.

She patted her back for a job well done, she just had to wait for the last results. “Let's do this!”

The moment Dwayne entered their client's name in the code she made, they immediately saw how fast it was working. The client's data is now out and who she had a night or morning with.

“What are on the stats of the chemical in her body, Rey?” Waverly asked as she started fidgeting her hands.

“Yes! Yes! Damn, yes!” Reysell started to shout and jumping up and down.

She and Dwayne sighed in contentment. They knew that reaction of Rey. They did it! Furthermore, they really did it!

Dwayne hugged her in pure bliss and happily kissed her cheeks. “You're clearly the most talented person I've ever met, Alaia!

Seeing the happiness on the faces of her colleagues made her forget the nervousness she had a little while ago.

“Since we succeeded, I'll let Reysell watch news right here and now.” Waverly announced, making Reysell stopped in his happy dancing.

His eyes are furrowed. “You're kidding me, Alaia. You would not.”

“I just said it, Rey. Let's watch news together.” she replied while smiling widely.

“For real!?”

She nodded and motioned them to follow her to her office, which they obliged. She sat on her chair and opened the television.

Dwayne and Reysell set themselves in her couch and relaxed their bodies after all the tiring work they just did.

The news is about an actress named Shaira Delgado.

Waverly bit her lower lip and raised her eyebrows. “Did we ever met her somewhere?”

Dwayne looked at her. “Not that I thought of. Why?”

“Hmm… it's just that, her name.”

Reysell rested his head on the couch's back rest. “What about her name, Alaia?”

“I don't know. It's so familiar, I just can't pinpoint where I exactly heard it before.” she said and shrugged her shoulders.

“Maybe, in the magazines?”

“No, I don't even read magazines, Rey.”

Dwayne started to clicked his tongue. A sign that he's thinking. “How about billboards? Radio? Social media?”

She shook her head in disagreement.

“No, I won't remember her if I just saw her name in those. I'm not good with names unless they are very close with me, remember?”

Reysell nodded his head. “Right.”

Waverly massaged her temple. “Never mind. I'll tell you guys when I finally remembered.”

“Alright.”

The boys continued watching the news while Waverly started digging her memories where she saw that name.

It must be on an important list because that's the only thing she can remember. Lists and Orders.

“How is she as a person?” she can't help but to ask.

Dwayne sighed heavily. “Well, everyone said she's kind and generous, you know? I heard that she has a lot of charity works like donating in the home of age and such.”

“And?”

“She was giving and donating money to the people who was affected with the storm and other natural disasters, why?” Reysell added.

“I don't know. My gut is telling me something. She's just… I don't know. Suspicious?” she said and shrugged her shoulders.

“Innocent until proven guilty, Alaia. But we don't know, All I know about her was she's kind and almost an angel.” Dwayne resorted.

“And they call her an angel by that?” she said and pointed the big headline in front of them.

Shaira Delgado's scandal is out in the open, and it's not her long-time boyfriend slash fiancée but her bodyguard.
