CHAPTER TWELVE

CHAPTER TWELVE

Waverly is panicking and couldn't help but to walked pacing back and forth in front of Deshawn, who's smiling widely at her.

She glared at her brother, who's now doing everything he can to avoid her eyes.

“What were you thinking!?” she asked angrily.

Wave sighed. “I'm sorry, I thought it was your tea since it was in shaped bottle like how you always keep it.” he explained sheepishly.

She shut her eyes distressed. How can I fix this now?

Waverly turned to Deshawn and held his face, so she can look into his eyes. “How do you feel right now?” she asked earnestly.

“Well, I feel like singing your name.” Deshawn replied, still smiling widely.

“Sing my what now?” she asked, frowning.

“Your name, Waverly~” he said in a sing-song voice, making her shiver in disbelief.

“Look what you've done!” she kicked Wave in his knee.

Wave winced in pain and smiled hesitantly at his sister, who looked like it would explode any moment.

Waverly picked up the bottle and examined it. Looks like Deshawn drank eighteen ounces of the potion.

She took at deep breath before she called Maman.

“Hello, Maman.” she greeted nervously.

“Hello, Miss Knight. I'll meet you in thirty. See you!” Maman replied and immediately hung up, not letting her say anything.

Waverly massaged her temple in stress. Great! I don't even know if the antidote would work, and why would he feel like singing again? It supposed to be make someone fall in love, not give them a singing career!

“I'll be meeting someone, brother dear, and I need to bring Deshawn with me.”

“What? But why?”

She scoffed. “The potion he drank was a love potion, and it was still in trial, but he just proved that it worked. Now, I have to test if antidote works too but if not, then I need him to be around me for at least a month or two.” she explained calmly. She knew anger won't resolve her problem.

“Can't you use the antidote here?” Wave second.

“Fine.” she surrendered, then opened her bag to get the antidote.

She immediately took out the bottle and poured it in Deshawn's glass. “Drink this, Deshawn. This is the only way I can help you.”

“You looked really gorgeous, are you even real? Can I sing your name now?”

Waverly sighed and rolled her eyes. “I'm real, alright? And no. You can't sing my name.”

Deshawn pouted. “But why?” he whined.

“Drink this first, then I'll reconsider.” she encouraged him.

“You made that?” he asked full of curiosity.

“Yes, I made this for you. So, you need to drink it, so I can be happy.”

“Really?”

“Yeah.” she answered while nodding her head to make it more convincing.

Deshawn clapped his hand happily, then took the glass from her hands. Waverly was anticipating the outcome, there's a big chance that the antidote would work, since the potion did.

"So? How was it?” she asked.

“It's great.” Deshawn shrugged his shoulders like nothing.

“Do you still have strong feelings for me?”

“Yeah, I really do feel something towards you.” he replied like it wasn't a big deal.

Waverly bit her lower lip, then dragged Deshawn out of the office by holding his wrists.

“Bye, brother dear! See you tomorrow!”

Waverly helped Deshawn walked out of the company. She needs to report what happened and probably ask for more two weeks.

“Where are we going, gorgeous?”

Waverly frowned at his remark. “We'll meet someone who can help me with your case.”

“What? Why? I don't understand.”

“Don't try to understand it, Deshawn. It's complicated.”

When they reached her car in the parking space, she immediately opened the shotgun seat and pushed Deshawn inside.

She drove fast in Maman's location. She clearly had to explain what happened and asked for a second chance.

“What's your ideal type of man?” Deshawn asked to pop the tension air between them.

“Someone who can treat me right and never disrespects me.” she shrugged.

“I can do that.” Deshawn said without hesitation. He sounded serious, that made Waverly chocked on her saliva after hearing what he said.

“We're here.” Waverly announced and cleared her throat.

Deshawn followed her earnestly. He even linked his arms on hers, making her jump in surprise. No one has ever been that close to her.

Her friends were never this intimate with her. Yes, at some point when you looked at them, they look like a couple enjoying their date.

“Maman.” Waverly greeted the woman who's already sitting on their designated table.

Maman turned to her and smiled widely. “Waverly! You're finally here!” she greeted and kissed her cheek.

Waverly shyly tilted her head. “I've got a bit of a situation right now, Maman. Would that be okay? I'll explain that.” she said hesitantly.

“You mean your company tonight?”

“Yes, Maman.”

Maman motioned them to sit across her. From then, Waverly immediately told her the whole story of what happened earlier, making sure Maman would understand.

“It's alright, Waverly. Shh… calm down. It's okay, but you need to make the antidote in those two weeks time. No time to waste, alright? We need to bring back his normal state.”

“I understand, Maman.”

They continued to discuss about the potion and antidote. Maman looks like she's enjoying the talk with her, making her glad.

“Thank you for tonight, Maman. I'll immediately fix my mistakes.” she beamed.

Maman tapped her shoulder before leaving them alone.

Deshawn pouted. “I didn't understand a single thing with your discussion with her.”

She chuckled. “I apologize, then.

“You said that she's going to help us. How?”

“It's on me. No need to know, Deshawn. Let's get you home.” she said and fixed her dress.

“You'll drive me home?”

“Yeah, got a problem with that?”

Deshawn grinned. “No, I like it.”

Waverly just shook her head in dismay. He surely is had a lot of energy stored in him.

She happily drove him to his house.
