CHAPTER NINE

CHAPTER NINE

It's the fourteenth day of Waverly's stay in Gothame. She had to prolong her stay because of an important matter. After meeting Faina, they planned things about the war going on, Moravia.

Dwayne and Reysell took care of their projects, and she's impressed. They were able to find something new about the man's grief.

The two are already rushing her to come back home because they were being summoned by the president. He wanted to talk about the counterpart of their project: the woman's grief.

Waverly's phone vibrated. She clicked Dwayne's message.

Dwayney:

When will you go home?

She chuckled at his message. It's his forty-fourth message to her, and all of them are the same question.

Waverly:

Soon, Dwayney. Why?

Dwayney:

What do you mean? Rey already told you, right?

Waverly can't help but to laugh out loud because of his reply. She can hear his voice and his frustration in her head.

Waverly:

I'm just kidding. Take a chill pill, will you?

Dwayne didn't respond to her message, making her annoyed. She hated being the last one to message. What is he? A gold? She thought and scoffed.

“Your highness?” Amo called her attention.

“Is he ready?”

Amo nodded. “He's waiting for you now, Duchess.”

Waverly stood up and fixed her clothes. She's wearing a black racer back paired with her leather jacket and pants. Her hair is tied up in a high ponytail.

The click of her black high boots is echoing in the corridors as she walked towards the office of her pilot.

Making everyone looked at her direction. Amo saw the admiration and shocked on the faces of the people who probably knew his master.

Today, Waverly finally decided to go home, but she missed flying with Poseidon, her helicopter. But before she can fly, she needed the permission of one of her personal pilot first.

“Ah, Mr. Cleion. How are you?” she asked when she entered his office.

Mr. Cleion stood up and bowed his head at her. “I'm better than ever, your highness.”

“That's good to hear. I don't have all the time, Mr. Cleion. Can I have my permission slip to fly Poseidon today?”

Mr. Cleion opened his drawer and took out the personal list of their family's permission slip.

“There you go, your highness.” He handed her the paper after he signed it and put a seal on the paper. An indication that it was legit, and it really came from him.

Waverly happily took the paper and bid her goodbye to the pilot.

“Be my co-pilot, Amo.” she said nonchalantly.

Amo who already got used to be his master's co-pilot nodded. “As always, your highness.”

The flight to the Philippines went smoothly as Waverly expected.

“Where do you want to land, your highness?” Amo asked Waverly as they get closer to the Philippines.

“Where do you think, my favorite butler?” she replied, chuckling.

Amo scoffed. “I'm your only butler, Duchess.” He fixed his earpiece before he continued, “I bet were going to his highness house, your older brother's.”

Waverly laughed at his conclusion. “You guess that right!” she said happily.

“You always want to come to his highness after a long flight. He always gave you comfort, and you also wanted to check on him.”

“What can I do? I just really love him. He sacrificed a lot for me and the throne, Amo.” she said and sighed as she remembered her big brother's sacrifices.

Amo smirked. “I'm always proud to introduce myself as your butler. People knew I own a big company, but I will always choose to be by your side.” he said, almost bragging.

Waverly laughed at his remark. “You mean, you just hated the paperwork and the board meetings.” she said and turned her head to glance at him and smirked.

Amo grunted and smirked. “I have Oswald for that, your highness.”

“How funny. My butler has a butler of his own.”

“Stop it!”

Waverly continued teasing Amo about his wealth and his butler as they flew to her brother's place.

When they landed, Amo has his annoyed face on, making Wave laugh at amusement. His sister is the only one who had the power to annoy the great Amo Denzler.

“Mr. Cleion did really give his permission, huh?” Wave approached his sister and kissed her on her forehead.

“Yep!”

Waverly hugged her brother. “I missed you!”

“I missed you more, my little lady” Wave chuckled lowly and hugged her back.

“I'm not little any— Oh my! The cats!” She exclaimed in excitement and left him as she ran to his cats' direction.

His sister is always been in love with cats. He just stood beside Amo.

Wave shook his head and tapped Amo on his shoulder. “I told you, stop working for my sister and work for me instead.” he said jokingly.

Amo sighed. “You know I can't ever do that to her, my lord.”

“Why?”

“You already knew the reason, my lord. Why ask again?” Amo replied confused.

Wave shrugged and looked at his sister, who happily greeted his cats. “It's not your fault, Amo.”

“I know that, but the guilt seemed to love me.”

“Are you still going to your therapist?” Wave asked, concern was written all over his face.

“Yes, the Duchess, your sister always drives me there, so I have no escape.” he said as he watched Waverly from afar. “She can annoy me all she wants, but I will never leave her side.”

Wave smiled at the dedication this butler had. “This is just a hypothetical question. But what if she asks for you to leave her side? Because she wanted you to have your life.”

Amo looked at his direction with his jaw dropped.

“I can still serve her as I date someone and even when she had her family.”

“How sure are you?” he asked using his serious, cold voice.

“One hundred percent sure, my lord.”

Wave was satisfied with Amos answer that he tapped his shoulder and walked towards his sister.
