Chapter 61

Lindsey

I ran from Kai and kept running, not knowing where to go.

The castle was huge, and I ran into one corridor after another. Soon, I was lost.

"Lindsey! Lindsey, stop running!" I heard Kai's growl echo through the walls. I needed to get out of here and fast.

But where would I go?

It didn't matter where…I thought as I kept running. I didn't stop until I saw a large door. I pushed it open and stepped outside. I must've reached the back of the castle.

The fresh air hit me like a slap on the face, and I gasped for breath. My heart was pounding so hard it felt like it would burst out of my chest. I leaned against the wall, trying to catch my breath.

No, I couldn't stop here. Kai must still be following me. I shifted into my wolf and kept running, leaving the castle behind. I must find a way out of here.

I heard a waterfall somewhere in the near distance and stopped in my tracks.

As a wolf, my senses were heightened, and I could hear the sound of the waterfall much clearer. I followed
