Emma.
“You’ll always be a worthless piece of shit!”
I jolted from my bed drenched in sweat, panting heavily as my chest heaved up and down. The memory of my high school bully yelling at me in front of the whole school is still as clear as day.
I will never forget his face and the horrendous things he did to me.
Sophie, my little sister, busts into my room with worry-filled eyes.
“Are you okay? I heard your voice,” She sat beside me holding my shaky hands as she tried to calm my nerves.
“Yeah, just a nightmare.”
Sophie frowned, her brows creasing together before sighing, “You’re making me worried, Emma. These nightmares has been a common thing for you this past month.”
I sighed, “it's okay Sophie, I'm fine.”
“Well when you're ready, come downstairs. I'll make breakfast.” I exchanged a smile before she stormed off to wherever she was.
Sophie was in her last year of high school, it was difficult to pay her fees with a dad who turned into drug addict. My mum, Amelia, divorced my dad, Greg Addison when his new company went bankrupt.
My life wasn’t all that tremendous the time I worked to graduate high school. I still don’t know how I got through College but it wasn't easy and living in this sort of way was hell knowing our mother abandoned us to go find another rich man. Such a gold digger!
The loneliness soon led to my dad doing drugs to ease the pain he felt toward Amelia, at least that's what he presumed.
Sometimes, when we tried to get rid of these drugs, he would take out his anger and frustration on me and Sophie, especially me. His anger soon turned physical, I would end up with bruises on my face just cause I asked for the money for Sophie’s school fees. Dad and I were always on quarreling terms and Sophie felt guilty about it.
There was a time when dad went out of control and started whacking me nonstop, Sophie made an effort to get between us but ended up getting hurt herself. It was tragic and pathetic that my Father turned out this way, I mean, wasn’t I the young girl you always called your princess? Why the sudden change?
I wouldn't blame him though, it's all mum's fault.
And now, I'm left to drain myself in part-time jobs that could barely pay the fees for Sophie's education.
The house we lived in wasn’t one that would make your eyes sparkle or twinkle, very average if I must say, but it was sure as hell comfortable.
“Aahhhh!!!” Sophie’s scream echoed through the whole house interrupting me from my thoughts. I quickly ran down the stairs seeing Sophie in dad’s room.
“Sophie? What's-...?” I gasped as my eyes widened to see dad lying unconscious on the ground with his puke all over the floor.
You have to be kidding me!

“Due to too much intake of cocaine and metyrapone, your father suffered from an overdose which led to him collapsing.” The doctor explained as I glared at my dad who was sleeping so comfortably on the hospital bed.
“Will he be okay, doctor?” Sophie asked with tears still in her eyes.
“As long as the right treatments and therapies are given to him and he avoids these hard drugs, then yes, he will,” she assured us.
“How much will it cost?” I asked, anxiety building up in me as I awaited her response.
She hesitated before speaking up, “ About 20,000$.”
My heart escalated knowing I didn't have that kind of cash. Money for Sophie’s school fees wasn't fully paid and now dad’s sick. What should I do? I was just a 26-year-old girl, not a mother.
“He will also be charged for indulging in illegal activities.” I gulped and nodded before the doctor dismissed herself leaving us in the hospital ward.
I gripped my hairs, threatening to pull them out it's roots as tears formed in my eyes. I really didn't know what to do. I yearned to clutch my hands all over my Father's neck and strangle him to death.
“Don't worry, I'll… I'll drop out of school.” Sophie whimpered.
“No! Don't! Don't ever say that! You'll graduate high school like your other mates are planning to, you hear me?!” Tears finally spilled from my eyes as I tried to encourage her but she only seemed to cry even more.
“You shouldn't suffer for what dad did, you're innocent and he doesn't deserve any of this. I wish he would just die, we're better without him anyways.” She quivered, more tears spilling.
When dad wakes up, I'm gonna have a word with him. You can't be depressed for just a woman that doesn't give a shit about you.
She reached to hug me, immediately wrapped her in my arms, and whispered sweet nothings in her ear.
“I-I’ll find a way, don't worry.” I patted her head as her cries subsided into sniffles.
“It's gonna be okay.”
I promise.
Emma.“Miley! For the last time, there's no way I'll sell my body to any man.” I exclaimed at the blond hair girl through the phone. After that encounter, I have been trying to find a job that could pay off dad’s treatment.“And yes Emma! I said I get it but where do you want to find a kind of job that could afford for your dad’s treatment? I can't lend you too much money, you know.” She retorted with the same energy.I sighed.“Look, I know how difficult it is for you this period, especially in New York, but the only thing you can do right now is to sell yourself which I definitely do not encourage you to do unless a miracle wants to transpire that money will just come sprinting down the sky unto where you are right now.” She said, talking from experience of being a banker.“Ugh! This isn't the time to be joking, Miley. I'm emotionally downcast right now.” I sniffled into the phone. She kept quiet for a while before speaking up.“I really didn't want you to go for this kind of work,
Emma. It's been a day in the Koch’s household. I was still under review so I hadn't started the real work. Every morning, we wake up by 4:00 am to tidy up the mansion. The mansion wasn't a small one so it would really be difficult cleaning the whole place. There were nine maids in total, Dorota who was the head maid, Brittney and Marissa who roomed in the first, Jasmine and Mia, also roomies, Mary and Diana, who gave off this kind of weird vibe and finally Alice and I, who stayed in the last room.Alice has been my guide. She explained things better than the so-called Miss Dorota. The maid's outfit was a little bit tight and short on me but that was the only available size. I never really wore revealing clothes so it was hard adjusting to the new lifestyle.I learned that Mr. and Mrs. Koch were both out of town and would be back a month after so it was just the grandfather and the twins, boy, and girl that were currently in the mansion.Alice and I plus Mary and Diana were currently
Emma. The next day was pretty shocking.Miss Dorota told me to deliver coffee to Jax in his room, she said he needed coffee every morning. How am I supposed to face him? Wasn't she the one that didn't wang me around the so-called young master? Why did she want me seeing him?“But ma, after what happened yesterday, I'm not sure you-...” I tried saying just to get interrupted.“Are you defying my orders, how dare you complain? Get out of my sight before I smack your face again, and trust me, it would be far worse if I get my hands on you.” She threatened.Oh my, this old woman was deadly.I quickly carried the tray where the cup of hot coffee sat before rushing out of the kitchen. The hallways were lit up by the white light as I made my way up the stairs to where his room was located.Stopping by his door, I knocked on the luxurious door waiting to hear his voice but he didn't talk.I decided to enter the room seeing his sleeping form lying comfortably on the soft white mattress. He loo
Emma. I was hereby forced to make his coffee every morning. Surprisingly, Jax didn't have a problem with the taste. He would have a satisfied look whenever he tasted it. But what surprised me the most was the way his eyes would just scan my whole figure whenever I came into his room. He would drink the coffee as his eyes bore into my figure making his face look more...more... I don't know. It's hard to explain. I wondered if it was because of the maid dress being kind of revealing but I just shrugged it off since he never commented on it. The mornings were all the same. I would greet him to which he responded bluntly but that was it. I promised myself I wasn't gonna answer him because if I did, I know I'll be risking my pay. Last night, I contacted Sophie and told her I was doing well. I didn't bother to mention the part of Dorota smacking me in the face or Jax, my high school bully being my boss. I really didn't want to worry her. Come to think of it, miss Dorota has been act
Emma.“Emma Addison…”The rumble in his voice drove my thumping chest over the edge. My name was smoothly pronounced in his fresh hot American accent. His coarse low tone vibrates through my senses making my legs feel like spaghetti.I watched as his dark evergreen eyes penetrated my copper ones. The chartreuse color in them glowing, devouring me into clear nature.“It's been so long, Emma.” He called again, tugging the right side of his lips into a smirk.I felt my insides tremble, goosebumps finding their way to my right hand that he had clasped to the wall.“I-I don't know what you're talking about.” I didn't break the stare, my gaze fighting with his.My heart was left in a beating mess as I silently wished he would just let go and forget this whole encounter. The best way to get out of this was to deny me.Should I have changed my identity before coming here? Why hadn't I checked the details of the application before applying? I'm slowly starting to regret ever signing up for thi
Emma. “You're gonna regret that.” His voice was dangerously low. The roughness was evident against his steel tone. His face held indescribable gravity, pulling me down to an endless depth. “I-I…” My body shook just as he was about to reach me with his large hands. Jax roughly strangled me in his grasp, raising me to my feet that barely touched the tiled floor. I choked, my voice straining. “Now I remember why you always seemed to piss me off.” He muttered into my face, his hot breath blowing across my skin. “P-please…” I coughed, my hands holding his grip with eyes pleading with another round of tears threatening to spill. His expression darkened as I awaited his next move. The buzzing of his ringing phone stopped his actions, making him scowl at me before he dug his free palm into the side pocket of his pants. “Hello?” He groaned angrily, pinning his eyes on me. There was silence, his face crinkling before he gritted his teeth and furrowed his thick brows. “Okay, I'm on my
Emma. The tall tan skinned gardener stared, awaiting my reply. He had a decent amount of muscle making him look fit with his no beard face and brown eyes staring straight at me. I was on the verge of running away, knowing I didn’t want to reveal myself in front of this stranger that knew nothing about me.Talon’s expression dropped, his brows scrunching up as he gaped at me.“Did someone do this?” He pointed, raising a brow up.“No!” I gasp-yelled, hands stretched out slightly with my heart racing from his hypothesis. He widened his eyes at my outburst. He definitely didn't buy it, now he knows someone really did this to me.“I-I mean… Yes! My roommate, Alice and I were just playing… Haha… I…uh just came back from Miss Dorota to…uh ask for the first aid kit because I hurt my neck…haha.” I figured, pouring lies upon lies, adding another lie on top of the other.“Oh the chestnut haired.” he said slowly nodding his head.“Yep!” The tension was getting worse as I tried to cover it with a
Jax.“Sir, please spare me. I promise this won't happen again!” The security Head knelt in front of my desk as he begged before me.I chuckled deeply, “Spare you say…”He nodded eagerly, hoping I would give him a second chance.“You let those dogs you call family into my company and now you're saying I should spare you???” I thundered harshly, my eyes glowing and my grip tightening. The security Head whimpered, lowering his head so he wouldn't meet my gaze.“I'm s-so-...”“Shut the fuck up, you dweep!” I slammed my fist on the desk, the gadgets and paper files bouncing slightly from the impact.I glared maliciously before making my sentence.“I want your pathetic family and sick self out of this building. Now!” I scowled, bringing out my phone to inform my secretary.“Yes sir?” Stacey, my secretary answered.“Fire everyone on the security team and organize an interview for new ones. If I find any funny business being done during the interview, get ready to find your sorry ass out of t
