Becca's POV

It had been less than 12 hours since Ravi's death. I sat in my room, still trying to process everything that had happened. My best friend was dead because of me. He had been fine a few hours ago, and now his lifeless body lay in the mortuary. Tears rolled down my face, and my head throbbed from crying so much. Eating or even speaking felt impossible.

My mom walked into my room, her eyes filled with concern as she carried a plate of food.

"Sweetheart," she said softly, setting the tray on my bed and gently touching my head. "You need to eat something."

I stared at her, shaking my head. I couldn't. I felt her arms wrap around me, her warmth offering a sliver of comfort. "It's okay, baby," she whispered, her voice cracking as she fought her own tears.

Suddenly, we heard a knock at the door. We shared a look, understanding without words. It was them. They had come for me.
