Chapter 14: An old friend

Avery's POV

It had really been an eventful week I thought to myself, I was grateful the rest of the week had passed uneventfully. I was sure I had my fair share of dramas.

The universe must be playing a dirty joke on me, I thought to myself. I couldn’t stop thinking about my clash with Danielle. She claimed I ruined her life when in truth, she ruined mine.

I couldn't bring myself to blame her completely, cause I knew the majority of the blame belonged to Jeffrey. Her anger should be directed at him, not me. I wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.

I had to go shopping, I had to stop at the store to get some toys for the twins. I brought out a pair of jeans and a polo shirt to put on. I loved days like this when I had to put on simple and comfortable clothing just like before.

I was just about to head out of the house when Daniel ran toward me crying at the top of his lungs.

“Oh honey, what’s the matter," I asked, stooping low to his level to look at his face, all red and blotchy
