Chapter 17: The proposal

Avery's POV

I didn’t know what to make of the discovery, I had just made about Uncle Mark. I was still shaken to my bones.

I didn’t understand how someone would want to sabotage something that belonged to them, simply because they didn't like the person appointed CEO, even when that person was the only surviving family member of their only brother.

I felt really disappointed in him and had to find the best way to handle the situation. I couldn’t tell my grandfather that his only surviving son had tried sabotaging his company.

Over what? I asked myself, a hatred he had for me. It would break my grandfather's heart and I couldn't risk exposing him to such news, afraid of the impact it might cause to his already frail health.

I couldn’t also fire him or do anything to him on my own, without feeling like the most evil person on the planet.
