Chapter 19: It's good news, isn't it?

Avery's POV

I felt like I was in a dream, I still couldn’t believe it was real, I looked down at my finger to the ring sitting on it. I studied the ring, it was an almond-shaped diamond, with little diamonds covering the band. The ring was beautiful and the diamond was really big. It must have been expensive but I hated chunky rings. I would have preferred a smaller stone, maybe a gemstone like ruby.

The next morning, the news of my engagement had traveled so fast, faster than I had expected it would. That was the first notification I had gotten on my phone from a popular blog.

I had already received several congratulatory messages, I had to tell my grandfather before any other person told him about it, I thought as I dialed his phone number.

“Hello, dear,” came my grandfather’s hoarse voice.

“Good morning Grandpa,” I greeted him.

“Avery dear, how are you and my boys?” He asked.

“We are fine Grandpa,” I said as I adjusted myself on the bed in order to deliver the good news.
