Chapter 15: Another Encounter

Avery’s POV

Danielle and her friends walked to a table on the other side of the cafe, opposite where I was sitting with Lora. I turned my attention back to Lora, as I tried to completely ignore Danielle even though I knew she was staring at me contemptuously.

“So what had been going on with you,” I asked Lora, as I tried to ignore the fact that Danielle was still staring daggers at me.

“I met a guy in school and we are so in love,” Lora said, as a blush crept up her face.

“Really? I’m so happy for you Lora, you deserve the best” I said smiling at her.

“Tell me more, where is he from and what does he do?” I asked excitedly.

“He just finished med school and he’s doing his residency at the state hospital. He's a really great guy, and I want to spend the rest of my life with him,” she said dreamily, a very satisfied smile on her face.
