CHAPTER 12
It was captivating to see the mesmerizing scene of the endless pitch black sky wavering in front of us. It was filled with a lot of stars gazing as the wind would slowly brush pass our skin, making our beings a lot more comfortable. We were leaning on a tree, trying to enjoy the view of the majestic city engulfed with nothing but darkness and the city lights.
I don’t know why but my current state feels so calm and collected.As I breathe out the cold air, grasping on our bodies, I felt his hand slowly making his way towards mine. I looked at our hands, slowly intertwining. It was perplexing, how I wasn’t even uncomfortable or surprised that he grabbed my hand. There was only this feeling of tidal waves crushing onto my chest.“I’m sorry,” he whispered. My mind seemed to wander elsewhere as I stare right into space. It’s been a month since we got married and if I do say so myself our relationship looks steady. We’re slowly getting to know each other or more likely I’m trying to get to know him better since it looked like he knows almost everything about me; in terms of my favorites.“Don’t you have any plans of telling them?” I blinked and glanced at him. Despite having a lot of things that were preventing me from functioning well, I don’t know how I was able to come to the company without any scratches. There are a lot of things in my mind lately.Even though I wanted to talk to my only friend about the situation I’m into, I couldn’t tell her at all. Cassandra had once suffered from a miscarriage and I was there when it happened. It was a pity but more importantly a lot more painful for my friend as she had expected her baby to live. I’m confused with myself. For some reason, I’m having a hard time deciding what to do plus… it’s funny if you think of it like this; I’ve been influenced by Cassandra with being a goody good two shoes.It’s probably been a few minutes since Ivann left the bar with his shoulders sinking in disappointment. I already moved on and I no longer hold any feelings for him except resentment. “You’re creepy,” I pointed out at the man smiling at me.We’re currently in a Korean restaurant, eating. It’s already my third time visiting him in his office yet I’m still not used to him whenever he transform into a serious businessman. When I arrived at the hospital, I immediately rushed towards my friend’s room. I saw her at the far corner of the room, staring blankly into space while auntie was there, caressing her hair gently.Cassandra’s mom looked at me when she noticed my presence. I was sipping my coffee when Daevon entered my office. He seems to be serious but at the same time afraid of looking at me. I continued to look at him with an expressionless face as I greeted his eyes. It’s been three weeks since Cassandra left and I must say I miss her. I sighed to myself while looking at the papers in front of me. It isn’t really hard to manage the things in her company since her secretary was helping me plus there’s Auntie always there to assist me and of course, husband who didn’t leave me alone. It’s a good thing that my parents also allowed me to work here and labeled it as an experience for this sort of field. Well, in fact, they’re quite enthusiastic when they found out I’m working.I might say that I’ve been happy for the past few weeks that came by despite having some mixed emotions with my friend leaving.
