Selena wiped the sweat off her face as she waited anxiously for a cab to come by. She was clutching the bag of money like her life depended on it. Sure, her brother's life depends on it. Her phone beeped and she cursed out loud. It indicated battery low and it will soon go off. That's why Maria could not get through to her the first time she called because the phone tripped off and Selena had to power it and now that she had heard from her friend, she wouldn't be too worried if the phone goes off. What she should be worried about is how to get home or even to the hospital right now. It's pretty late and the night is already dead but she was optimistic that she will get a cab.
