Chapter 23

Vera wasn't ready to accept reality. She has come to love Andrew and Selena as her own. After Mrs Parker, her dear friend died, she has promised to love them and make sure they never feel their void of losing a mother. She had taken a liking for them. Selena is sweet, caring and has been kind even to people who have hurt her. And she is such an angel. She doesn't deserve any of this. Nobody deserves to lose a parent and a sibling in a short space of time.

She wanted to be the mother they lost and also for them to be siblings to Melissa. Now that Andrew is gone, it's just Selena and them.

"I remember giving your mother my words that I will look after you both and now. I am sure she will be disappointed in me"

She let out a quiet laugh and closed her eyes shut for a split second.

" I love you very much and I always will. Rest in peace, Andrew Parker. Selena, Melissa and I will miss you immensely"
