Laura's POV

I was sitting on the porch on the balcony enjoying the cool breeze while taking my turn of the watch Alexander placed us on when I noticed someone move swiftly from the backyard into the woods. At first, I thought it was one of the pack members, but the way this person moved was just too sneaky and swift.

I rushed into the house, and I caught Alexander's eye. He was sitting with some members of the pack, talking and laughing. I approached him, my heart pounding in my chest.

"Alex, I think someone just snuck into the woods," I said, trying to keep my voice low.

"What do you mean?" he asked, his expression serious.

"I saw someone move into the woods from the backyard," I explained. "We need to go after them."

Alexander didn't hesitate. He stood up, and several members of the pack followed suit. I felt relieved that they were taking me seriously. For a moment, I felt like maybe I was overreacting, but seeing the looks on their faces, I knew I wasn't.

We made our way to
