KING ARLO'S POV

I felt her pale and the next second, the plates slipped out of her grip and shattered to pieces.

"Fuck, Jordy!" I stepped away and she did too. Almost immediately, she went down to her feet to grab the broken parts. "Don't touch–"

But she already did. And a little broken part smoothly slit her finger and blood oozed out of the wound.

"What the fuck are you doing?" I rasped, picking her up from the mess.

She was shaking like she'd been hit by a hurricane. Her lips were a quivering disaster and all I could do was hold her arms.

"What's gotten over you?" I asked, leading her to the sink. She washed off the blood and I held her in place for her to calm down a bit.

I hate to think this mad reaction was from my question because I just might not push through with it anymore.

But then, I was always going to be left with unanswered questions and churning thoughts. I was always going to create crazy scenarios in my head about what might have happened to our child. I would alway
